They are not earbuds that block out ambient noise so if you need that, try something else

They have good sound (for the price) but they let in ambient noise, which is good when walking around a city

They let in just enough of the ambient noise that you are not startled by events out of your view.

I have had these for several months and have done phone calls gaming and music, as well as in ear monitor.

a few very nice features:-The fabric cord feels nice, and adds to the durability-The headphone jack, which is where many of my previous headphones had broken, is covered in metal, which should help with longevity-The one-button remote/microphone was a huge improvement over not having a remote, allowing me to pause and skip forward and backward on my iPod as well as to answer and take phone calls on my Android phone
