Merely leave the disk in its case (easiest) or on a smooth, flat surface to avoid marring the disk; put rubbing alcohol on a folded paper towel and remove the writing by rubbing it off.

I'm using a VHS/DVD recorder to convert old videos, and the rewritable disks are great for making sure everything is perfect before copying them to a non-rewritable disk that isn't as forgiving.

On every DVD I tried to use, I got a "bad disk" error on my DVR.

A disk will from time to time suffer read-write errors such that it becomes a coaster.

So if you have an older recorder, make sure the disk type and speed matches the requirements of your machine, otherwise the disks will be useless

Now I can't find one that works in my Dell Latitude D630; a variety of error messages keep appearing, eg, no disk in drive.

My old Magnavox is very stubborn and will not work with many of the read write disk but loves these.

For some reason, it won't accept the 16X DVDs when I want to burn a disk in order to keep a program that I have recorded.

I can record shows and movies and rerecord over them when I'm done, or keep them if it ids really goods..
