These Mediabridge plugs are much easier to install, fit over 12 gauge wire and are very easy to screw down to secure the wire.

I recommend good 12awg stranded wire.

They were simple -- SIMPLE -- to use and make all the difference to keep loose wire filaments from clogging up the back of your receiver or possibly causing a short in your wiring.

12 gauge wire a little tough to "mushroom" wire for plug

If you are using extra stiff wire then use the Fospower which are better suited for those.

I am not advertising this wire although the wire is awesome too!

It takes a great deal of force to pry the wire off of the plug

The compression design ( strip about 1/4" lead, slip on the lower half of the connector, fray the wire out, slip on the upper and screw down tight and your done ) locks down the stranded speaker wire down tight, fine stranded wire or low stranded count

Originally bought 24k Gold Plated Speaker plugs from another amazon retailer which did not allow enough speaker wire to connect with the plug.

From me trying to jam 10gage Monster speaker wires that were way too fat through the receivers 12gage max

these are great, work great in my Harman Kardon and easy to use, wires are secure , requires a little playing with and getting used to but these are secure, just dont pull the wire as you shouldn't with any plugs

These work OK, screwing the wires into the terminal, the threads are not the best machined

Easy installation, secures wires tightly, easy to connect and disconnect.

Plugs fit nice and snug in the sockets, I used them for Yamaha and Onkyo receivers and Klipsch and Elac speakers, with #14 pure copper speaker wire.

The T-14 wires are not as fine as some speaker cable wires so they did not fold over the portion of the plug with the serrated edges very well.

Its a little tricky bending the wires back evenly and screwing the plugs back together - you have to be careful not to strip the wire too far back, but after doing a couple of times it was pretty easy and they appear to be high quality and well made

The mechanical connection is great and the wire is securely attached when you twist the two parts together

and I like the way the wire is secured within the plug

My bedroom used some speaker included 18awg wire and these banana plugs griped the wire tight and work great

Plugs are so much easier to manage than screwing down loose wires.
