• Reviews around cable (3.37 of 5)

MEE audio M6 PRO Universal-Fit Noise-Isolating Musician's in-Ear Monitors with Detachable Cables (Smoke) (1st Generation)

    • They came with a very nice case, two different cables (one with a headset and one without), and a whole bunch of ear bud tips
    • The cable is a tad funky too just in general
    • I needed something new for daily wear, because I got tired of paying a couple hundred bucks every year or two when my IEMs would die due to bad cable/case flex points, usually shortly after the warranty ran out...
    • Firstly the detachable cables for M6Pro slides into a grove
    • The cabling is sturdy, and coated with a protective layer of plastic
    • The second line of the response from them was, "Sorry to hear that you damaged the cable to your earphones
    • After those broke down (the cable was their Achille's heel
    • Thicker cables, heavier earpiece
    • Bought a 6 foot headphone extender cable because I'm a guitarist, and the cable would have probably been long enough for a singer (who stands fairly still)
    • Overall, I think these have well balanced sound.- Replaceable cables
    • First the plastic at the port where the cables get plugged in broke, though I could still listen to them, then the cable died on me, after buying a new cable one of the headphones split in half at the glue
    • This package comes with TWO very nice detachable cables
    • Well last week I finally connected the cable with the built in microphone, and found that there was a short in the volume adjustment slider
    • Also, the cable itself is cheap, I've had 3 of 3 cables stop working after a few months so far (the most recent one inspired me to write this review).2
    • Cable is a bit stiff
    • So 5 stars for value, I might go to 4.5 for lack of 3 button design and shiny cable
    • The detachable cables on the M6 are probably the reason I'm looking to replace the earphones I'm using on the computer now (Soundmagic) rather than the MEE, because the problem with the Soundmagic pair is that the sheaths are separating from the wire at the point where they enter the earphones.
    • The comply tips are great and combine that with a thinner more flexible cable than comparable shure iems, these are by far more comfortable for long sessions and sound just about as good as the shures too
    • To start off, you get a TON of accessories with the M6 with 6 pairs of silicone eartips (I've found the double flange tips work best for me), a pair of comply tips that didn't fit me, but was still a nice touch, a 1/4 adapter, a very nice hard carrying case, and 2 detachable cables (one with a microphone and a pause button, while the other one is a regular cable)
    • the extra flexible plastic near the plug that's supposed to protect the cable from this did not do its job
    • There is proper strain relief in the appropriate areas and the cables, though a bit thin, seem like they will last quite a while
    • With the right size ear tip, they keep a low profile, and the cables BOTH move well while playing or walking
    • The cable with the audio controls WILL NOT TANGLE
    • Not only is it detachable, but it feels so much higher in quality, and looks so much nicer as well (specifically the audio-only cable, not the remote/mic)
    • So far so good, feel really durable, and love the fact that the cables are detachable
    • It's great they give you two cables since they break so easily
    • The volume control and button on the transparent cable is great!
    • It's a shame since they come with decent cables, a nice little case, and a 1/4" adapter
    • The M6 Pros come packed (very well I might add) with two detachable cables
    • The cables that come with it are a quite short and if not careful can be ripped out of your ear
    • As the quality has gone down in the original M6's (poorer quality cable) and as I needed to recommend a budget IEM for several organizations where I help with
    • And not to mention DETACHABLE CABLES.EXTRA CABLE WITH MICROPHONE,INCREDBILE REPLACEMENT WARRANTY.1/4 JACK.the build is great, the cables plug in very tightly to the driver though, very hard to pull off so be careful.i can't stress how much of a live saver and incredible value these headphones are, i would love to see some flagships from Meelectronics, withdual drivers as to equally sound great, not just in one frequency
    • I got a pair of these because I wanted a pair of in-ear monitors with a detachable cable at a budget price
    • Great if MEE include a separate soft zippered pouch for the in-use IEM as it is unlikely that we will need to carry the hard case and extra cables at the same time
    • While the $18 KZ ZST's did not come with a case, adapter, or wide range of tips they did come with a much nicer detachable cable than the MEE M6 Pro came with
    • lesser cables would have gotten wrecked with the abuse I've put these through
    • A detachable cable
    • The earbuds detach and come with two clear cables and a carrying case, which is a nice bonus
    • I was expecting barely usable wires that tangle easily, but the cables are actually quite nice and they click into the monitors easily (more importantly they stay on.)
    • The cables are well made and dont tangle easily, and comes with a clip, extra cable, and a large selection of replacement plugs
    • The cables (both with or without mic), the case, and the assortment of inserts is very nice
    • Both included cables are quite nice, albeit on the thinner side (see below for CONS)
    • I love the fact that the headphones themselves are detachable from the cables as it gives me added assurance that if I ever accidentally damage or destroy the cable, the headphones themselves can still be used with a new cable
    • They had a detachable cable and it was better quality than the original M6's, but not by much
    • I'm not an audiophile in the comical sense -- no $10,000 gold HDMI cables for me, thank you -- but I am borderline-obsessive when it comes to the stuff I use for dedicated listening.
    • The cable broke within 3 months at the plug.
    • Nice quality cable
    • Primary cable failed after a month, however, but thankfully the secondary performs just as well.
    • All that said, I am pretty rough with my headphones, keeping them in my pocket without a case, et cetera, and I bought this largely because of the fact that the cable was replaceable
    • The only caveat is the cable can be hard to secure (it loops around your ears) and finding the "right" earbud
    • After five months of consistent use, the plastic cord protector near the 3.5mm jack became detached, and a month later the connection from the jack and the cable is no longer consistent, meaning audio will drop out unexpectedly
    • Both cables that come with the headphones are well made with memory wire, strain relief, and a way to cinch the wire tighter if needed
    • Overall, MEE Audio has a nice package here with the detachable cable, lots of tip options, Comply tips included and the carrying case.
    • The case is good and the two cables both seem sturdy
    • The only caveat is the cable can be hard to secure (it loops around your ears) and finding the "right" earbud
    • The cable broke after very little use
    • Where else can you get a really good set of ear buds for use on stage that have replacement cables available for 50 bucks?
    • Originally I was going to buy the Shure SE215, since I had used Shure e4C IEM for long time and really loved the flat response of these IEM, and thought the SE215 is at good price with replaceable cables
    • DETACHABLE cable
    • I am using the noise isolating tips and the cable rubbing and knocking sounds transfer up the cable (even when using the clip) right into my ear canals and I can only enjoy these earbuds when sitting completely motionless
    • The cable is nice and long and doesn't get tangled like others I've had
    • The bonus extra cable and nice case are great, just adding to the already great value of these headphones
    • Way too much cable noise
    • For MEE;Suggestion#1: Make a clear differentiation between the Left & Right cables
    • Packaging is beautiful, extra cable with no controls for in ear monitoring for musicians, plenty of tip choices and a pair of memory foam tips as well
    • The extra cable is a nice bonus that even my expensive monitors did not match
    • and I was shocked to see the right headphone was cracked, making it difficult for the detachable cable to stay in the headphones
    • I like the travel case that is included as well as the two different cable types
    • I wrote this review after breaking the cable today
    • Proc: two cables in package, very convenient in ear
    • Overall, the sound is great, and thought they don't nessicarily look it out of the box, they are really durable, and the replacable cable is a life saver.
    • They come with two detachable cables and a small carrying pouch.
    • Really wish I could send these back or at least the faulty mic cable, but the return policy has expired with Amazon
    • Comes with 2 nice quality detachable cables, multiple sets of tips and a nice case, no brainer there.
    • There is proper strain relief in the appropriate areas and the cables, though a bit thin, seem like they will last quite a while
    • When a pair of headphones stops working, it is most likely a bad cable
    • To start off, you get a TON of accessories with the M6 with 6 pairs of silicone eartips (I've found the double flange tips work best for me), a pair of comply tips that didn't fit me, but was still a nice touch, a 1/4 adapter, a very nice hard carrying case, and 2 detachable cables (one with a microphone and a pause button, while the other one is a regular cable)
    • Keeping the cable from pulling away from your ear, or risking the ears being pulled out is the cable catches on something.
    • Other than that, both cables, the one with the command button and volume adjust bar and the standard cable, are both pretty decent
    • I bought these as a knock around pair of earbuds for when I was working, I liked the removable cables that looked
    • The Klipsch also tend to have bad cables and durability issues
    • These come the closest while having features such as a replaceable cable
    • Also, the cable itself is cheap, I've had 3 of 3 cables stop working after a few months so far (the most recent one inspired me to write this review).2
    • and they don't have a detachable cable, and I decided to try this from
    • No cable felt flimsy or like it would be easily broken
    • But this product is an outstanding value, especially considering that the competing (single dynamic driver) model from Shure, the se215k is twice the price.[update]After a little over 3 months of using these, I have experienced the following issues:-complete failure of the left-side unit-plastic 'socket' for the detachable cables crumbling away from the earpieces on both sides-customer service response is sluggish, over a month and counting to process RMA
    • The earbud connections to the cable or very loose.
    • Pros:-Lots of value overall-Tons of ear tips, detachable cables with 2 cable variants
    • Having the cable and glasses over my ears is a struggle.
    • • very durable... repaceable cable, with mic• very Good noise
    • It comes with two cables, the microphone base as well as regular cable.
    • end.really appreciate that they come with a nice case, lots of different options of tips, and 2 cable options (i abhor cables with play buttons, microphones, and/or play buttons).4-5 stars if they weren't a tad too tinny for me.
    • If you can get past my complaints they are built nicely, come with lots of tips, and the cables seem sturdy and strong.
    • The non-mic cable can and does tangle upon removal from the excellent case
    • The replaceable cables are a huge bonus, having the potential to save hundred's of dollars over the course of a few years (not having to buy a new pair of earphones).I wasn't sure whether this was too good to be
    • With all the tip options and replaceable cables, I cannot see any reason to spend more than what these cost.
    • The cable is a little unruly and tangles
    • The cables seem sturdy
    • I probably won't need to replace it as the recommended cable is of very high quality and seems quite durable, but good to know that if I break the cable the actual earbuds won't be unusable
    • The cables are replaceable which is great because I've broken so many other brands before these.
    • the cables lasted 6 months but its still good for 50$
    • The stereo cable broke within a month (at the jack) but MEE replaced it quickly and with no problem.
    • The included cables are very nice, indeed
    • The cable with the volume slider was hard to attach and died after a few weeks of usage
    • I gave these in ear phones a try because they sounded promising - changeable cables
    • Currently the best value for earphones with detachable/replaceable cables
    • The connections on the cables seem solid and I've had no issues with them coming loose, disconnecting, fraying, or anything like that.-They are comfortable to wear in almost any way- cable in front, cable in back, inside clothing, outside clothing.
    • If you aren't experiencing this you either don't have a proper fit (which is a woefully easy trap to fall into) or it's not in the material you are listening to.- Cable is comfortable to wear and phone mic is great
    • Pros: Detachable cables, carrying case, two cable sets (one with mic and one without), lots of tips
    • Can't beat the quality at this price and the replacable cables are awesome
    • But, I read some reviews criticizing those about the fragile construction and someone mentioned about the MEE M6 Pro in his review and thought that these may be a good option, considering the price and 2 replaceable cables included
    • The spare cable didn't perform at all.... literally a dud on anything I plugged it into (monitor, pc, iphone, aux on my
    • All that said, these far exceeded any of my expectations they are indeed rugged, and the replaceable cable is icing on the cake there, I've had these for a couple weeks now and they've been put through their
    • I discovered the M6 Pro which has a detachable cable.
    • The only really aggravating design/construction issue I have is that the cables get tangled more easily than any other earphones I've had.
    • customer service was nice and sent me new cables, however after a few more months those cables also stopped working... same exact situation too, mic cable started shorting out and the other cable just pulled right out of the jack.
    • I like that it includes two detachable audio cables, one is with mic & volume control.
    • At the almost half price of the Shure SE215, with 2 replaceable cables, I believe it was one my best purchases I’ve made recently
    • Very noisy cables - sound like $8 earbuds from Rite-aid; hot mid and high freqs along with recessed lows - had to eq the hell out of source to get these to sound pleasing
    • The memory wire helps to keep them in place better, the cable is more robust and the extra cable with a mic a simply a bonus for me
    • The second cable is my favorite.
    • I tend to destroy my cables, so being able to replace them without buying a whole new set is a big plus
    • That;s because shure isn't exactly sure how to make a proper cabling solution for the se215's, so just plan on replacing them every 1-2 years if you're ok with that
    • Overall nice build quallity with detachable cable which I liked the most, solid and nice looking but the sound quallity and confort are disgusting
    • These are also a very cheap plastic and a very easy to tangle cable.
    • Very noisy cables - sound like $8 earbuds from Rite-aid; hot mid and high freqs along with recessed lows - had to eq the hell out of source to get these to sound pleasing
    • I snagged the headphone cable while getting out of the car.
    • The cables are durable and feel as if they won't break anytime soon
    • I love the detachable cables, and the sound is nice and balanced.
    • / durable- nice spare cable- great ear fit - comparable to $400 Shure’sCons:- sound quality- overboosted Lows (70-120hz)
    • accessories+ Stellar build quality+ Detachable cables at this price+ CABLE QUALITY+/-
    • Nicely built with fine quality stock and spare cables, comes with a manual on how to properly fit and configure/contour the memory wires onto your ears
    • the aux and cable wire might have loose wire inside, I started using the spare cable which i find it really low quality and since both cable tangle(based on photo) it was broken
    • The extra cable is helpful, and the headphones work great at isolating the input to the headphones.
    • Those are incredible earbuds for the price, cancel way more noise, and can be true IEM's with the right cable.
    • Once I fiddled with the cable enough to get a good fit, without becoming a tourniquet on my ears, I can say that the m6's are quite good
    • The only downside I've found is the second cable with microphone is VERY awkward
    • And I guess if you really need a cable with a mic on it, the extra cable might be nice.
    • And don't even question me on the cable -- it's quite possibly my favorite cable, out of all my IEMs, out of all my full sized headphones
    • You do get whast you pay for, and one of my cables did fail quicker than expected, but that's why I got one with replaceable cables.
    • Amazing sound quality and cable quality
    • it has not been even two weeks and the right cable is already nonfunctional
    • Side note - Favorite cable is the one without the microphone just cause of the feel of the cable and the less bulky mid piece do to the lack of microphone and
    • I got clear cables
    • Decent sound, but the cable with controls broke after a couple months.1
    • My only caveat, because I was primarily using them for Djing was the fact the cable was a little to short 51" (great for everyday use) but since MEE have basically an M6pro accessory dept
    • Perhaps MEElectronics will address this issue and release a better quality mic'd cable, hopefully with volume buttons.
    • I like the idea of swapping cables between the one with the microphone jack and a regular audio only cable for thw headphones, although I'd say that I wouldn't really swap ot out too often because it seems ilit would be the weakest areas of the headphone
    • If you enjoy a more boomy bass then you will definitely find these iems lacking, but in terms of balance and clarity across the spectrum these are king, and if you're like me and break cables left and right the detachable cables make these an absolute no-brainer choice.
    • Perfect for the price, the replaceable cable is awesome
    • Before buying M6, I used VSONIC VSD3 (until the cable got broken) for noisy places, and liked them much more
    • One of the great things about the earphones is that the cable is really durable and tangle resistant
    • The cables are replaceable which is great because I've broken so many other brands before these.
    • Build Quality 5/5:These monitors come with 2 detachable cables, several different ear tips, and a carrying case
    • , the highs became shrill and overblown in most Paramore songs, as well as in some Weezer songs
    • I've only been using them for two days, but they have already found their place as my daily drivers, as well as for more specialised uses like DJing
    • The frequency response is good enough and though the sound quality is a bit strident at the higher end and the bass is not as head rattling as I would prefer.
    • Since I also have super picky ears, most ear buds don't fit in my ear canals right without hurting a
    • These also came with a better selection of ear pieces, as well as, a second cord for phone/volume control
    • but I'm not feeling for these M6 Pros as of now
    • Buy the blue ones, they're about $10 cheaper as of this writing
    • I purchased these earbuds thinking they would work for me as a
    • They don't isolate nearly as well as the $10 panasonic ear buds we all buy from Amazon (which for the price still seem to
    • I use these for personal performances, as well as when I play guitar for my youth group and church
    • I much prefer an over the ear style headphones, but when I started working out I went looking for a pair of iems
    • I looked into Shure 215's and I was impressed, but I love a
    • I then went to the equalizer settings of my galaxy note and boosted the bass as much as I could, still horrible sound
    • Low end is good down to 33hz (a low B on a 5 string bass), and the midrange is perfect for singing
    • I got the M6 Pro as a relatively inexpensive (and hopefully temporary) replacement while I try to get the B&Ws, which lost most of the right channel, replaced under warranty
    • The L-shaped hard plastic jack housing is similarly good, providing a surface you can get a good grip
    • More l like listening over an old phone receiver
