    Memorex 8.5 GB 8 X Double Layer DVD+R - 50 Pack Spindle

    • I don't go above 8x when burning data on a dual layer and I burn videos compiled to dvd format at 4x.
    • The main problem with the other review are the people are actually trying to burn data at 8x speeds which they are doing because it says 8x on the case, I do blame memorex and even verbatim for not warning users but not all computers can burn at 8x speeds
    • I was aware of the bad reviews, but I just could not justify paying nearly $2 per Verbatim DL disc when I could split movies or burn data on 2 single-layer discs for less than 20 cents a disc (or 40 cents compared to $2 for the same capacity).
    • it would burn the data, but before it could finish i would get a disk error
    • Upon further review the disc lost the data
    • I purchased another brand - amazon's own - and have had little to no issues trying to burn the same data
    • I had to make sure it was not bad data, and that worked fine.conclusion, don't buy this product unless you want to buy 50 coasters in a spindle.
    • I have burned data onto several of them
    • The bad disk(s) were discovered when recording, no data was ever lost; popped out the bad disk replaced it with another disk.
    • but if your data is not especially valuable or your burner has a lot of gusto, these are very nice to have.
    • Luckily most of the data I have lost is backed up on hard drives and I am able to re-burn the data to more stable media
    • Once you burn data to them there's a high chance that errors will arise with the disk too
    • That is, sections of the disc have discolored and degraded to the point that the data is unreadable
    • I personally would never use any DLs to archive important data files.
    • Unable to burn any data on the discs
    • If you are just burning data, stick with cheaper, more reliable single-layer media.
    • They appeared to burn data but then would not allow access to the data.
    • This media works fine for burning, used in an internal and a USB burner, any coaster issues I had have been related to the burning software and data being burnt, the price is right at the moment.
    • Coaster, software gives a error message, "bad media"Then tried to burn the same data with an older Memorex DVD-R DL
    • Recommended - just make sure your drivers are up to date and that you're using a reliable program to burn data
    • I've been burning data to DVDs in all formats for years, converting and burning movies in vob format, burning MP3 disc's for
    • you have patience, burn the data at 2.4x it will take around 30
    • Great as always!
    • I would recommend purchasing from Amazon as they cost $93 at Best Buy compared to $48 on Amazon.
    • These burn well as long as you have a compatible burner.
    • Although I have no way of confirming it, I believe they are failing as they begin burning the second layer
    • I do dislike the label surface as it has little stars on it, but no biggie, just write right over them
