    Memorex 8.5 GB 8 X Double Layer DVD+R - 50 Pack Spindle

    • i was able to burn a project onto the hard drive to make sure the files weren't overloading the disc and this was not the case, hence the problem does not lie with memory or the burn software) and a reliable dvd burner
    • Maybe my drive just went bad after a month or two
    • The drive works fine on other discs (i.e., a set of Maxell DVD+RWs, and some Sony CD-Rs), so I have to conclude it was just a bunch of faulty disks
    • Since this failure I have used only my newer drive to burn these
    • From now on I'm going with external hard drives for backup
    • If you have had problems with Verbatim, I would think its your drive going bad or your burning software needs to be re-installed
    • For anyone wondering, my drive's firmware is up to date, and every burn I attempted was at 2.4x, using both ImgBurn and Nero.
    • I'm just a bit paranoid about hard-drives and disc-scratches so want to back-up my expensive film collection and precious work files - and not drop a bundle on extra spindles in the process.
    • Luckily most of the data I have lost is backed up on hard drives and I am able to re-burn the data to more stable media
    • I have two drives and they work fine on both
    • Even the ones that do actually work will sometimes have a random assortment of problems, aka menus not working, being unreadable in perfectly working disc drives
    • I no longer blame the discs and would ask anyone having problems with this media to make sure their drive is compatible.
    • Some drives, like mine can burn at 4x AND 6x as well
    • My C drive usually takes 2 DVD diaks, but fails on the first disk.
    • Have a better than basic system.... meaning at least a couple gigs of RAM, plenty of hard drive space and a reasonably fast CPU.2
    • For my Panasonic DVD-R Hard-Drive home TV recording system, I use only Sony DVD-R discs
    • I am currently filming a movie and watching 2px in HD while recording, even in one occasion was I disconnect my external hard drive and the recording stopped, sent me an error message, connect the hard drive I hit retry and continuous recording no problem
    • They won't let me change my rating (three stars now)Got new drives and staging to hard drive to let drives rest
    • I thought I had a catastrophic problem with my computer--what with not being able to burn any of these on three different DVD-DL-capable drives.
    • and i've already gone through half of one of the 50pks, i recommend this item for anyone who wants to burn the latest pc games, HD movies or just to back up data on their hard drive.
    • All my burns used the same app and the data were staged from fast SATA hard drives to a new (11/2010) LITE-ON BD IHBS212 via SATA at the rated 8X speed
    • I give it 2 stars because they only work if you have a "compatible" drive.
    • I went to the Sony web site and found that the drive was only compatible with certain media, and the list was very small.
    • They don't work with my Dell laptop's drive which is the TSSTcorp TS
    • I bought these and have them burning off of a quad core computer with 4 gigs RAM, and a 10,000 RPM Raptor hard drive.
    • (recommended) and the hardware is the built-in Apple Super Drive
    • It's a well known fact that some drives just don't play well with certain brands of media
    • Bought these in hopes of burning some of my larger videos and series to them to clean up space on my hard drive
    • Now I DONT stage it to the hard drive, I just make a temporary copy, and then it burns it to the DVD.
    • Every time it tries to burn the 2nd layer the drive will jsut hang.
    • After burning 150+ DVD+R
    • Pros:1-Double Layer DVD+R at 8.5 GB for a buck2-Silver and a handsome looking writable surface (with a permanent marker)3-Appears of a nice quality and no difference compared to other more expensive DVD+R DL4- Works fine with my Apple factory
    • I've been shopping for the least expensive DVD+R DL online, and found this Memorex 50 pack for around $50
    • From what I'm hearing (a lot), Verbatim +R DL slow speed is the way to go on dual layered disks
    • The memorex 32920013382 8.5GB 8x Double Layer DVD+R- 50 pack was not compatible with my Magnovox recorder
