    Memorex 8.5 GB 8 X Double Layer DVD+R - 50 Pack Spindle

    • It turn out that the DVD fail to burn from the start stated "fail to burn"
    • I was only able to burn 10 fully functioning DVD's the
    • I think Memorex makes a good product and the DVD backups I burned over 3 years ago are still working just fine

    • I've burnt 5 Memorex so far, which have produced 2 that did not verify correctly and the other 3 are problematic when playing on an inexpensive DVD player connected to a TV (the other higher quality DVD player I have succeeds in playing these 3 discs though).

    • Recordable DVD's are a bit expensive but in the long run are a great value when recording stuff for myself, but not when you throw 9 out of 10 out, and they stop recording after an hour or so and you have to start recording all over again

    • Nero identified the manufacturer of these DVDs as Ritek Ridata Media, so Memorex is selling them under their name and marking them up because you can get Ritek Ridata Media for about $0.26 per DVD/DL.My advice go and purchase Verbatim as I have had 100% success burning DVD/DL so far.
    • I've been burning Dual Layer dvd's for years and here are a few simple rules to
    • Out of the package of 50, I was only able to burn 13 DVD's
    • I burned 15 DVD of 15 attempts without harming anyone
    • It also helps to use a dvd cleaner every 40 hrs of dvd/blu ray player usage.
    • double layers(loose dvd-dl's from local stores) before going for a full pack.

    • I like memorex,I been use it since almost coming to the market the blank DVD's,Memorex was one of mine first choices,first because the low price compare to others brands,and second,When I bought my third computer,and the dvd recorder fail to burned my dvds, I took my computer to the store where I bougth it,they replace it with a memorex dvd burner,since then I fell in love with the brand, I still had the same computer since then and the same memorex in the computer still working ,I built another computer for Me and the dvd burner is another memorex.my suggest for those who are looking for a good dvd
    • Every second DVD in this package is defective
    • Especially secure distros that I want to run off a LiveCD because I don't trust the lock button on a USB drive as much as I trust a DVD when it comes to its inability to be written to on the fly while running an OS at least

    • Yes, I've had some "coasters" but it usually turns out to be due to 1) a bad original DVD or 2) trying to do other tasks on my computer when I'm burning a DVD or 3) using too high a write speed (I don't recommend using higher than 2.4x)
