    Memorex 8.5 GB 8 X Double Layer DVD+R - 50 Pack Spindle

    • I wasted many trying to get them to burn at the right speed.
    • I burn at a slow speed and don't have trouble, sometimes up to 5x or 6x, but never 8x.
    • So for those people burning at maximum speed and burn coasters, try burning at a slower speed!!!!!!
    • Finally there's burn speed
    • Even IF you slow down the speed they still screw-up
    • The new high speed ones are just terrible.
    • Slower speeds do not remedy this either.
    • Burn speed does not help make these work properly as some reviewers have said
    • When I limited the speed to 4X (the lowest available with my system), I only got 3 failed burns out of 15 attempts
    • I tried burning at a slower speed (2.4X) and still the Memorex had burn failures
    • I have to burn these on slow speed to have a chance of it working at
    • Recommendations:extremely important write speed set at lowest possible (2.4x) makes it easy for the burning application your using to make a smooth transition to the second layer
    • If you don't mind slower speeds, this DVD+R is definately worth the money.
    • I tried everything (new DVD drivers, different software, slow speeds, etc.)
    • I even tried writing at a slower speed to see if that would help, No luck.
    • I still keep getting errors on recording sometimes when I slow down the speed which means throw away a disk
    • Despite the numerous negative reviews, I went ahead and purchased the Memorex DVD+R DL 50 pack because it was the best deal since the other reviewers noted they had success at a lower burn rate and I expected it to work with a slower burn speed
    • Slowing down your burnspeed really doesn't take much more time than default speed or faster speed.
    • If I have to burn at slower speeds, they are a waste of my time and
    • , I was determined not to lose the entire cost of my Memorex purchase, so I slowed burn speed to 4x, and thus far, no failures
    • If speed is what you want, try a different brand, but if you are in no rush, slow down the bunring speed and you should not have any trouble.
    • Reduce the speed to 6X and works fine
    • Now I can record more reliably: but only if I use the slowest speed of 4x
    • I even noticed that when these started burning they were at a much, much slower speed than my previous Memorex Dual-Layer DVDs that I believe were rated at the same speed.
    • But with these discs, using 4 to 5 different software programs, and always burning at the slowest speed possible, appeared to have little effect
    • While they will burn at slow speeds, they are so unreliable that I don't trust them to store my data
    • Speed is better and more consistent than the last dual layered dvds I got.
    • burn speed of 1x.
    • Burn speed is good
    • You might get a dud or two, but the QC on them is good with great movie playback and very fast transfer speeds of data Buy these.
    • When I limited the speed to 4X (the lowest available with my system), I only got 3 failed burns out of 15 attempts
    • I bought Memorex double-layer media I began experiencing nearly a 100% failure rate!I tried recording at slower speeds (my recorder's slowest speed for DL media is 4x)
    • Half of them don't burn successfully and you have to burn at really slow speeds (1-2x) otherwise you're just creating drink coasters.
    • When I attempted to use Apple's iDVD software to burn my first disc I used the "fastest" speed which leaves it up to the software to decide what to do.
    • I set my Memorex burner to 6x burning speed and have had no problems with creating coasters.
    • No coasters and great speeds
    • If you are having problems, try writing at the slowest speed, be sure to enable the setting to write once/close disc and don't be doing other strenuous tasks on the computer while writing.
    • Even at the slowest speeds
    • From what I'm hearing (a lot), Verbatim +R DL slow speed is the way to go on dual layered disks
    • Just limit your burning speed to 8x
    • There is no difference what OS, writer drive, burning software, or speed at recording
    • I did not try these speeds, because it worked on the 2.4x speed
    • Also burn a dual layer at a slower speed.
    • anyway, i didn't get the 'incompatible' error like on the NECs, but it was odd that i could choose burning speeds from 1x to 48x for a DL DVD+R
    • Great Great Product, amazing delivery speeds! and awesome price
    • I have tried slowing down the writing speed like another reviewer suggested but that did not help.
    • I burn at a slower speed, but have not made a coaster yet.
    • I'm planning to buy the 50 pack from Amazon and live with the slow writing speed
    • I have a 25pk and not one coaster, all you have to do is lower your write speed and everytheing will work fine
    • In my opinion, I think the reason people are having issues is because they are choosing speeds that their disc drives arn't ready to handle yet.
    • With the Kodak, on the same burner, on the fastest burn speed, every one has been successful.
    • I'm a cautious burner; I restrict the burn speed to one notch below maximum speed
    • My DVD's still burn at twice the speed of the more expensive product and cost half the price.
    • I've burned 3 of them, slowed down the burn speed, one plays, but it was a low-content file
    • The top speed of my DVD writer for DL is only 2.4x and it takes about 45 minutes to write a full disc.
    • I tried a few different burning programs, I slowed down the burning speed; didnt help.
    • Don't always try to burn at the fastest speed
