You can get decent used trumpets at a music store if you're looking for a bargain...but the main thing for used student trumpets is, don't skimp on valve oil.

Yes, they are "cool-looking," but I guarantee you that the metal on the inside of the valves will begin to degrade the moment you put valve oil on them, ensuring that the valves will begin to stick within weeks, if not days.
