All in all a very impressive remake.

Newcomers will have fun playing the remake of a masterpiece, but might find themselve confused by the story if/when they move onto other parts of the series.

But I truly enjoy this game, and respect it as a flawed, but well done remake

Also I must mention that they should have added some stuff like the superior Resident Evil REmake.

As such, had the remake been more like the Resident Evil one, the new features could have been a more welcomed addition

the visuals of MGS1 for PS1 are poor..this is a full blown remake of Metal Gear Solid 1, one of the best MGS games, one of the best games of all time

The Twin Snakes is an awesome remake (good job to those at Silicon Knights) of the game for the playstation 1 that was quite possibly the best game for the system, from it's rich storyline, awesome cutscenes, and fun gameplay

This remake, like the original MGS, can be beaten in a short amount of time, and there is an overabundance of cinematics and dialogue, but this is still a highly replayable and highly recommended masterpiece.(Some Advice: When you're done with this, grab MGS2

but it's not big a deal, if you ask me personally it brings a new dimension to an already fantastic game, now to my review, I love how the Developers use the Metal Gear Solid 2 engine in this game, it makes Shadow Moses and the characters look gorgeous, I love how they kept the iconic classic codec the way it was back in 1998, and in my personal paying I find it to be very cool, the voice acting is still top-notch, the gameplay is fantastic, it takes a classic formula and adds a mgs2 twist to an already good formula which adds more options, the story, it's still Metal Gear Solid with minor changes, if you love Metal Gear or if you are fan, please pick this up this is one remake that No metal gear fans should miss.

An outstanding remake of Hideo's classic Metal Gear Solid but offers nothing new besides the first person view and updated graphics

Metal Gear Solid Remake is a really great addition to the Nintendo Gamecube library and is a must have to any die hard Metal Gear fan.

On paper, the idea seems promising: a faithful remake of one of the best games of the PlayStation, with enhanced graphics and gameplay

All in all, I tend to hate remakes of any form but this is definately one to pick up.

I thought the remake would be stupid or bland

A great remake based on the classic original,although the psx mgs is better except in graphics,I would still recommend twin snakes as the quality is still top notch especially if you only have Nintendo system and curious about mgs series.

Improved grapics and better control do a lot for a game, so whoever said this is just some stupid remake needs to get their head checked.

Character models may not be as good as those found in the Resident Evil or Silent Hill Series, but they don't fail to impress either
