Not so good if you have an expensive mic.

But in order for the boom to support a mic without tipping over, you have to orient the boom over one of the tripod legs

The top mic holder can be unscrewed and removed in case you want to use a universal mic holder (I use Behring B1 mic holder).CONS: Mic hold that comes with it does not fit my Behringa B1 (fortunately, my mic came with a holder that can be screwed in by unscrewing the one that came with the stand)
