Midland - GXT1000VP4, 50 Channel GMRS Two-Way Radio - Up to 36 Mile Range Walkie Talkie, 142 Privacy Codes, Waterproof, NOAA Weather Scan + Alert (Pair Pack) (Black/Silver)

    • This is frustrating because the only time I know the battery is getting low is when it starts to chirp at me, and it does that pretty much only when it is about to go completely dead, maybe like a 15 minute window.
    • One does not work and the other will not change channels
    • First off, the ear peace blows...does not fit well...and even worse if I was not wearing a helmet, this ear piece would just wabble around with no way of securring it.
    • then one does not work at all
    • For some reason this set does not like to transmit even when standing 5' apart
    • A 12 hour day does drain the batteries - and it does take 12 hours to fully charge them.
    • Same problem there... does not seem to recognize a 6 volt charger, but will happily accept the 9.5 volt charger.
    • Husband and I used it on a road trip move and no way does it work unless the other car is in view.
    • Very useful and does do the job
    • does not work well in wooded areas
    • Of course it does not work no where near 36 miles
    • Used while riding ATVs and its not as clear as I would like and VOX does pick up the ATV noise even on the lowest sensitivity setting
    • According to Midland it should work with other brands but does not.
    • Other than the cheap-o earpiece and mic attachment - these little babies pack a punch, feel excellent in the hand, great sound, long battery life with rechargeable batt-pack, multi-function, FRS/GMRS with incredible range in urban setting.
