Second problem, if you weren’t within about 50 yards of each other, they wouldn’t work

It's been an intermittent problem, work sometimes and others not.

The problem lies with the over the ear, boom mic(s).

Only problem is accidental triggering when bending over, etc., but that's better than not working.

I have used these 6 radios for over 2 years now with heavy use, and have never had a problem with any of them breaking or malfunctioning

While unable to recharge the handset is a problem, I use it so little that keeping 4 fresh AA batteries in the unit is not an issue

Other than the cheap-o earpiece and mic attachment - these little babies pack a punch, feel excellent in the hand, great sound, long battery life with rechargeable batt-pack, multi-function, FRS/GMRS with incredible range in urban setting.
