When set to your local NOAA weather station you are warned instantly when they issue severe weather alerts.

Some alerts cannot be turned off, such as tornado warning (if you wanted to turn off tornado warning, why would you waste money on a weather radio?).

Worked for about a year and a half, last summer stopped receiving all alerts and refuses to tune/receive anything but static on all the weather channels

The second one worked through one alert event, but at the second alert event a month later it failed, alerting one beep, the went into the set the clock mode
