Haven't had any bad weather yet to test, but if it works as well as the old unit with severe storms on the GA coast, will be very pleased.

The problem here was I was looking for a radio that would give weather alerts in Florida as we have storms every afternoon, and of coarse a hurricane here and there

I decided this after having some bad storms come through and realized that my phone is not reliable enough to wake me up in my sleep

It activates once a week as a NOAA test and has alerted us to strong storms twice in the last two weeks
