You can add a better antenna for about 15$ and still be portable

but I had bought on of those new tiny as seen on tv portable tiny antenna from Walmart to place on the tv, good thing I did because the larger antenna that came with tv did not pick up any channels

and I shouldn’t have to pay for a more powerful antenna to pick up a signal from a station I could throw a rock at and hit!
