The much more expensive microphone which I hoped would capture the dialog failed completely while this Lavalier mic plugged into my iPhone and captured the audio (and without extraneous noise like movement captured).My one suggestion is that the even with the extra cable, it is not long enough; the cord needs to be longer otherwise if you are doing a standup interview one can see the cable running directly from the person in the scene directly to the camera-which is distracting.
