Misfit Wearables Shine 2 - Fitness Tracker & Sleep Monitor (Rose Gold) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • I do know it vibrates strongly enough to wake me up and that the snooze feature works because the Shine 2 woke me up about 5 a.m. this morning—with a mind of its own, because it's not reading the time at all without the correct app for it
    • In fact after I get a phone call, the Misfit app will no longer be able to sync with my Shine 2 until I reboot the phone
    • Then I just happened to go to the Google Play store on my MacBook Pro and discovered that there are two other Misfit apps available, Misfit Link and Misfit Home
    • Excellent activity tracker, comfortable to wear, easy app to use, have not had any problems with my Misfit falling off.
    • Then I just happened to go to the Google Play store on my MacBook Pro and discovered that there are two other Misfit apps available, Misfit Link and Misfit Home
    • Both underestimated the distance by about 12% as compared with GPS.I tried to use the Shine 2’s Flash Button capability and also experimented with IFTTT, but it’s more trouble than it’s worth; the app is still set up for the old Flash, has no documentation, and isn’t ready for the Shine 2 primetime
    • I went to the Google Play store on my tablet and searched for the Misfit app
    • I have a proprietary-Android Amazon Fire Phone (there are no compatible Misfit apps in the store) and an ASUS MemoPad tablet (firmware-upgraded to Android 4.3 but with Bluetooth 3.0)
    • I have no idea if it's tracking sleep or steps, but probably not until I get the Misfit Link app, at least not accurately
    • It seems that the Shine 2 was rushed out without being properly designed and manufactured and without functional software (check the reviews of the Misfit app.)
    • Now if, when this new tablet comes, I can load the Misfit Link app and the Shine 2 actually works like it's supposed to, I'm going to be in love with this thing
    • The app is easy to use and connects with many other fitness apps
    • I have tried replacing the battery, removing the shine from the wristband, restarting my iPad, deleting and reinstalling the misfit app, resetting my Bluetooth connection, "waiting" for it to sync, hitting 'sync' over and over again, and restarting and reattempting to sync to my phone, all without any change
    • I've got the Shine 2 connected to My Fitness Pal and, through that, my Withings smart scale, but the data is not coming in to the Misfit app
    • I like the feature to be able to have it vibrate if you are idle for a certain period of time as well as to alert you when you get a txt or call.
