I don't understand why it's so hard to make a durable band that can attach the device?

It is definitely a problem, and I do hope that misfit offers to send a better replacement band to those who have purchased early due to the risk of losing.

I'd likely repurchase if they improve the band

Oddly enough, my Shine 1 never actually popped out of it's band, despite me hearing of it happening to nearly everyone who had a Shine

Update: After one month of use I confirm that the band is excellent and I did not loose my Shine 2 even one time

The band is improved.

It can really never leave the band now since its taped in, but I won't lose it!

then the original, the device is thinner, but wider, and the band is a bit thicker, and to be honest I love the look of the black band

I hadn't realized that this ultra new technology of double-sided tape was what they were going to sell off as their "new improved band"

Lost the other one because I was wearing a knock-off band

DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE STUCK TO THE BACK STICKING IT TO THE ORIGINAL CRAPPY BAND!!!

It's really unfortunate that an otherwise good device with good software continues to suffer such a fatal flaw - one easily remedied by introducing a secure, waterproof band.

(watch band and bloom necklace which I especially love) are too small for the Shine 2

The band is excellent till

I prefer the band to the clip.

Then one day, it was suddenly GONE, popped right out of the cheap plastic band and disappeared

I also believe the little bracket that goes on the back may additionally stretch the shine 2 band so I would not recommend using it

The Allrun band is very secure, but I have switched to wearing with the clip as I prefer to wear my "normal" watch on my wrist.

I was interested in getting another, but hoped to hear hat they had an improved band, an apology, suggestion... anything

I like the feature to be able to have it vibrate if you are idle for a certain period of time as well as to alert you when you get a txt or call.
