I absolutely adore this journal, not only is it extremely compact and portable, but the pages are of good quality as well

But don't take this to mean it's a bad journal, just don't use it for more than very light use

I used to panic in the rain, but the journal means it protects it from a lot of incidental sprinkles and I can set it down without worrying about getting the paper dirty

Moleskine is a great Journal for drawing, pen & ink, watercolor and acrylic paints

It holds color well and makes a great journal to keep that shows a series of progressive paintings and/or technique improvements (a gr3at painting diary).

I guess I have wasted more dollars looking for the right journal and should have paid more attention to the reviews that I thought were based solely on "Moleskine snobbery".The paper is perfect and stands up to washes better than most notebook journal/sketchpad papers

I purchased this notebook as a "warm-up" journal for a trip I'm taking in a month with the larger 5.5x8" journal

They are not as sleek, formal, and sexy as this journal, but the paper is wonderfully thick and can take just about anything beautifully
