The lens cannot be used with Otter Box cell phone protective case.

It comes with a nice carrying case that doubles as a lens cleaner.

I wanted to use a protective case for my iPhone and did not want to have to remove it to use a lens.

Once you install the mount to the phone, and reinstall the protective case the lens doesn't reach the mount.
