If I mount my H5 directly to my camera with a metal hot shoe adapter, let's call that noise a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.
It would be easy enough to replace the lower fitting--you would need a 3/8 to 1/4-20 insert and a standard hot shoe adapter.

Having said that, the connectors seem strong enough, although I wouldn't put anything too heavy on it myself, particularly if you was using it on a boom pole.

if you shake it with the audio recorder on it, it will jiggle--that's a good thing for isolation.

While I mostly use a camcorder to record video, I occasionally use my DSLR because the quality is quite a lot better than my camcorder.
Quality is so amazing
