Will be used on a desk as a mic stand (not being used for instrument micing).Used with a dynamic AT2050 mic, so not a very heavy mic, but the base it heavy enough that I can see it handling the weight of a large mic (maybe not the Yeti, but most condenser mics).All of the parts feel very strong and tighten snug, and easily.

The base also has felt pads on the four corners to protect the surface of whatever you place it on

You can't really adjust the microphone without an adjustable shock mount or an adapter that allows you to adjust the microphone angle

The base is VERY heavy and held a blue yeti, shock mount and pop filter fine

This thing is nice, heavy, and perfect for in home studio, internet radio, or podcasting

There are a few things that are hard to mic with it, like a tuba, but otherwise I don't regret having gotten it.
