It may help with temporary very warm pavement, but I'm not a big fan of the way this product is advertised as a heat barrier

This works great on my dogs paws, it helps protect the pads from the hot pavement when we’re out walking...

I use this primarily for raceway use (it gets to 100+F in Willow Springs and Buttonwillow Raceway at times) and for when the pavement gets hot (as well as before hikes in Angeles Crest)

Only reason 4 stars is that I have not tried putting on their paws to walk on hot pavement which is what I bought it for

My dog wants to walk on sidewalks a lot, so I want to protect against the rough, often hot, pavement.

Worthless for hot pavement etc., its only a wax which melts and conducts heat

We are not in cold and snow, so we use it to keep paws tender and protected from very warm pavement.

I tend to walk my dog in the evening when it cools but the pavement and sand are still pretty hot and she hasn't had any issues with it
