The self-oscillation that happens when you turn the regeneration knob up past 11 o'oclock or so allows for awesome dub reggae delay effects, but if you're not careful it will massively feedback on itself

i play a carvin sh550 through a mesa boogie 5:50 2x12 express tube amp.i've used the pedal so far to get a "slapback" effect (good for surfer rock), and a longer "u2/edge" delay to get sounds like the intro of "where the streets have no name".

In my ignorance I always thought there couldn't be much difference between delay pedals, or delay effects within multi effect units

I like the depth it adds to everything from subtle, extreme and whatever else, the mod switch is great for the flutter effect too, nice extra.

You can experiment for days on different modulation settings, different combinations between the M169 and other pedals (such as reverb) to create a full spectrum of ambient effects capable of making any audiophile drool
