It says the 5V from a modern PC soundcard is enough - I don't know since I'm using 48V and the mic works well with that voltage

I am just beginning my own podcast and am on a tight budget and this mic works great for vocal recording

I wish they did recommend installing software though, I couldn't find anything like this in the comments

I will mention however with a couple free software programs you can download to enhance your mic quality even more via bass, treble, noise cancellation, etc, this thing sounds like a $200 mic

I do recommend additional software as the mic is quite powerful and it does pickup quite a bit of background noise (tv, typing, other voices, etc) but with the right free software, you're able to eliminate that greatly all while enhancing your voice in the process.

I recommend installing software such as the "Peace" equalizer software to perfectly adjust the microphone and to find settings adequate for your liking

And of course the mic itself does a good job, barley noticeable fuzz if your in a quite environment

It does come with a Ball-Type Foam Cap that covers the top portion of the microphone and does a great job of keeping my P's from popping too loudly

It gets the job done well enough, but only if you have a 48V Phantom Power Supply available.

The anti-shock mount is solid and easy to work with, the foam ball cover does a significant job of reducing background noise

It is, however, a very good quality budget-friendly mic, and if you are trying to set up a recording environment on a budget of around $100 or less then this is a good option

I recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality budget mic.

the recorded sound was awful, very distorted and underwater sounding

I also bought a power supply with the mic, but the sound this mic picks up is very weak

I have a phantom power, the correct cables, an external sound

I am satisfied the sound and the recording is of high quality

But you may need a cheap usb sound card for your pc if your pc's sound card is below 5v which most newer computers are 5v or higher but the voltage of the sound card of older computers is generally 3v

If you are concerned about having the best microphone in any category at all, you should look at more quality (expensive) microphones.
