Nespresso Lattissima Plus Original Espresso Machine with Milk Frother by De'Longhi, Black

    • I got it because of how easy the milk frother was, and I was not disappointed
    • It also makes pretty good steamed milk
    • However now we are having trouble with the frother.most times now no matter the setting the milk just come out barely hot and not frothed.
    • Its adjustable automatic milk-frothing dispensing system is a marvel of simplicity and does a good imitation of a skilled barrista
    • It can even dispense hot milk on the fly
    • The froth is excellent with a popular almond milk brand, so it’s easy to restock from my local grocery stores
    • The steamer part for the milk really works well and makes a nice thick milk foam for Latte
    • To get your drinks at their warmest temperatures you will ALWAYS want to both pull a blank water shot (just press the espresso button without a pod in the machine but make sure you pretend to eject the pod after because a little more water will come out and you don't want that in the glass you are ready to use that might have syrup in it) AND clean the milk frother, if using milk, by holding down the black clean button for about ten seconds into either the glass you will be using (make sure you dump out the water before creating your drink!) or a different glass.
    • and you end up with a cup of hot milk mixed with water
    • Milk never went bad on me, but may take some flavor from smelly foods in the fridge
    • the espresso is not hot enough, only 120f- the frothed milk is not hot enough, only 90f- it makes WAY too much foam, the foam dial never worked correctly only resulting in a teaspoon difference in foam- doesn't make lattes...a true latte uses steamed milk, the milk attachment on this isn't a steamer but a milk warmer and frothierBasically if you are looking for a fool proof way to make espresso and want the ease of a Keurig brewer type system its a very nice way to go

    • And although it recommends low fat milk you can use whole milk or half and half just as well.
    • Put milk frother in refrig though I would clean it every couple days or so
    • I also have a Gaggia for Illy Espresso Machine, and compared to this Lattissima machine, it is clumsy looking, clumsy in the way it froths milk and difficult and time-consuming to clean the frothing wand
    • say I'm very pleased with the compartment holds milk is very easy to clean comes apart completely in several pieces as long as you keep pressing the clean button in between
    • , coffee consistently taste great, real milk is a major advantage over other instant coffee machines, and it’s super compact and good looking
    • It froths the milk very well and has different froth settings.
    • Yes, you can make just hot, frothed milk
    • The Espresso or as I normally drink it as a Americano is actually strong unlike any Keurig coffee I have found (what I am forced to use at work).Just a tip: the touch/pro have a hot milk button
    • If you don't like froth and are reasonably coordinated, you could make a latte and catch the milk in one container and the espresso in another and then pour just the milk into the espresso while holding back the froth (like they do at Starbucks).I use the same method to make hot milk and just catch the water running through the espresso section in a different cup
    • The milk could be just a tad hotter, but not really a problem, just have to drink your lattes quickly! It's very fast and not really much clean up.
    • Great milk steamer, even with soy
    • I'm so impressed with the latte it makes and cleaning the milk
    • However, everytime we attempted to make these the milk was always cooler than piss
    • I look forward to my cappuccino using a darker nespresso choice and almond milk every morning.
    • Also, I prefer extra steamed milk, so I run the cappuccino cycle twice and move the cup before the second batch of coffee comes out.
    • The customer service by e-mail answered me basically saying that the milk i was using wasn't good/fresh, therefor its not frothing
    • Totally incredible how well it froths milk
    • The milk is luke warm and you need minimum 3 pods to get the size cup shown in the photo which increases the cost significantly
    • It makes perfect foamed milk (from non-fat).
    • Company blames the milk quality but after trying practically every brand and following instructions I still have frothless, cool milk
    • not enough milk storage not enough water storage spits liquid when cleaning frother water storage hidded
    • PROS:-The coffee is damn good for an automatic machine-One button makes a latte/cappuccino, not two separate steps-It actually froths the milk really well and you can control the level of froth-You can change up the type of coffee easily-The maintenance is ridiculously easy-The machine is very smallCONS:-Okay, so the espresso and milk aren't quite as hot as if you had made it with a manual machine
    • Too much / not enough milk
    • I do clean the milk with a separate cup.
    • We all like our coffee a little bit different, but here's my favorite (and my wife's) recipes if you'd like to try them:4-shot mocha cappuccino: 2% milk in the container, one scoop of nestle quick in the cup (better IMO than the ghirardelli syrup).
    • Durable, quiet milk steamer, brews coffee quickly, small footprint, requires moderate maintenance, must fill milk every 3 or 4 servings, coffee is expensive, makes my coffee dreams reality.
    • So, if you didn't like the result remember to set the machine back to the default setting by pressing all four buttons (lungo, espresso, latte, and cappuccino) down simultaneously for a few seconds until they stop blinking.- Make sure to clean the milk frother by holding the clean button for about ten seconds, you'll see why after you do it
    • Put some Almond Breeze almond milk in the container (I'm off cow milk at the moment), dropped a cartridge in and briefly pressed (1/2 sec) latte (top right of the 4 buttons)
    • and the milk isn't very hot
    • My clear milk tube went missing one day and I had to clean the entire house before I finally found it "buried" under the corner of my living room rug
    • When my first machine broke and stopped frothing milk out of warranty, I was very disappointed
    • What was the most disappointed is that the coffee is not hot, it's rather warm or with milk lukewarm, but not hot at all.
    • it has to be under 2 minutes total time, from cold machine and milk in fridge to machine off and milk back in fridge.
    • Also, you get thicker foam from the separate milk frothers, which I also love
    • The only recommendation I would make is to warm the milk for 40 secs in the mircowave as this makes the milk extra hot for a perfect latte
    • I ended up returning this since it had a cracked milk container but I ended up purchasing a black and steel colored one from another vendor.
    • I used to warm both the shot and milk together after dispensing, however, I feel like it tastes much better only warming up the milk
    • I also REALLY love how easy it is to clean the parts in the dishwasher, and clean out the milk frother with the button after using
    • First thing in the morning when you are not quite awake you don't always remember to flip that little thing up - perfectly foamed steamed milk is not so delicious when it's all over your kitchen counter!
    • Four buttons: one for a lungo (long espresso shot 110ml), one for espresso (40ml shot), one for cappuccino (espresso shot + 50ml milk/foam) and one for a latte macchiato (espresso + 150ml hot milk).
    • Had to clean the milk out and that took another cup to catch the water then wash.
    • , it's just that the machine really excels at blowing a stream of cold milk into my cup during each and every use
    • Unlike the dishwater Keurig Coffee these pods make a rich velvety brew, well steamed milk and a cap of foam
    • Cleaning the milk spout as recommended takes maybe 10 seconds
    • This machine is GREAT, the one star lost is I sometimes find the milk frother part hard to clean.
    • Although it appears on several reviews about the machine dispensing lukewarm coffee and milk, I find that with the proper measures taken, the Lattissima is more than capable of producing a piping hot cup of coffee
    • No one wants a luke warm latte and there is no other way to get the milk hotter except warming the milk first
    • Additionally, the milk hardly gets frothy and I love froth
    • The milk comes out rich, creamy, and sweetened
    • Nozzle cleaning function for milk container allows us to have clean milk everytime we served
    • And although it recommends low fat milk you can use whole milk or half and half just as well.
    • I then checked the milk reservoir and it reeked of rotten milk
    • The machine also dispenses warm milk, something that I find useful especially when wanting a cup of hot chocolate in the middle of the night
    • The milk this one makes is way better.
    • I was very satisfied with lattes and cappuccinos in the Tassimo system because of the "real milk" claim as opposed to the Keurig which uses a pretty nasty powdered milk blend for any coffees
    • Do you prefer milk with a finer consistency
    • I tried setting the timing very long in order to cover the period between making the next cups however, the milk became too warm and soured
    • just warm milk coming out.
    • This not only pre-heats the cup to a desired warmness, it also warms up the internals of the machine.= Hot milk.
    • The two complaints I have are this:when making a cappuccino, the frother inserts barely luke warm milk into the drink
    • Hot Milk, no wasted espresso or
    • Using the default settings, the beverage ends up tasting more like hot milk than anything
    • If you like fantastic milk-based drinks with perfect foam every time (along with perfect coffee without milk), and the least possible amount of work to get it - this is the machine
    • Put the detachable milk box back in the fridge and you are done.
    • The milk foamer even foams soy and almond milk really well.
    • It's the worst I bought on Amazon, when i received the machine did not work at all the milk is not heated, no foam, milk does not come out of the machine at all, does not make Cappuccino,, the worst of this, when i sent to replace the machine, and received a second machine, I've found the same problem, also the other does not work,, I would not advise buying this product ,,
    • What we do is a clean cycle on the milk frother this helps to warm up the internals and helps get the milk hotter we sometimes run the clean cycle twice.
    • Removable milk frother works really well
    • This machine doesn't take up much counter space, froths the milk like a professional (you'll love the 2 inch foam!), and pulls shots in two different sizes.
    • We generally avoid cow's milk, so we use roughly half coconut or almond milk, which tastes just as delicious (full coconut or almond milk doesn't give good froth, but if you mix in a little cow's milk, you can't tell the difference). The convenience is truly remarkable
    • The fact that it not only creates fine espresso drinks, but also automatically dispenses hot milk and froth for cappuccinos and lattes is fantastic
    • I would just echo what has been said before, it's not going to blow you away with the best espresso you've ever had, but the sheer convenience of a 1-button latte/cappucino is outstanding, not to mention the little touches like the pod catcher tray, self-cleaning milk spout and drip tray which make cleaning up a breeze
    • Now, I'm no steamed milk aficionado but the milk is hot and plentiful and the foam is light and bubbly
    • I have enjoyed espresso and latte with hot milk
    • and I've started making my coffee with that when I have some extra time in the morning - and even then we use this every day, because the milk frother makes it so easy to get cappuccino style milk in our Aeropress coffee.
    • The milk should be sufficiently steaming hot right now
    • : Fortissio Lungo ran through as a tall cup with milk (top right button), 1/2 to 1 Tsp sugar, pop the capsule into the reservoir after using it and hit the espresso button one more time to just add more water
    • The best thing about it is definitely the convenience - it is trivial to clean and descale, and being able to put the milk frother in the fridge and clean it in the dishwasher twice a week is so much better than having to clean the frother every time you make a cup of coffee
    • Skim milk comes out like whipped cream!Just as an aside: prior to owning my Maestria, I had a Saeco fully automatic $700+ machine - the foam that comes out of the Lattisima+ puts the Saeco to shame.
    • If I am only making the one cup Ill hit the milk clean button, adding the remaining milk/water to my cup for a super quick clean up
    • What is not to love about this machine?!-Detachable milk container you can store in the fridge.-Automatic frother you may adjust to your liking.-Easy clean button that takes less than 10 seconds to complete.-Esthetically pleasing, all while not taking up all your counter space.
    • think this is one of the best machines for the price that steams amazing milk and has GREAT quality espresso.
    • Love being able to keep my milk ready to go.
    • The milk steams up great, even almond milk.
    • One thing I missed in the instructions is when you clean the milk unit, you have to be careful to ensure the holes in the rubber tube that sucks up the milk face the opening of the solid palstic tubes it connects to.
    • No buttons stuck, milk worked fine
    • Temperature is so much better AND you get real froth not just warm milk
    • You can't beat the ease of use, quick brewing, plug in/pull out milk frother (adjustable frothing), value for the price, and most importantly the delicious coffees (all 20 plus coffee types and flavors).
    • The milk container disassembles into about 6 different pieces that are all dishwasher safe, so we run it through ours every few days and never have any issues with sour milk smell or residue
    • They recommend the milk to be at refrigerator temperature before use
    • It's not that it's bad or unenjoyable - I like it
