Having purchased from the stores both in the US and Europe and never had dented capsules; so I see no reason these should be dented

Damaged capsules can't be used in the espresso maker, not would you want to use them.

The best to get top tasting and low pricing is to buy the empty capsules, grind your coffee and use them fresh

No issue really with the product, the capsules are very fragile, and when they arrived about 1/3 of them were dented, causing some issues with the pressure required by the machine to make good crema espresso.

Just know that on these capsules also to make sure the previous capsule has dropped into the bin, because if you pull the lever down and the capsule isn't seated correctly it will crush and be useless.

I use this for a nightly cup of espresso and each capsule is perfect for the occasional Espresso Martini!

Well be that as it may.. several capsules weren't usable at 70 plus cents a pop, that added up.
