With the ethernet port you can connect to your existing wifi router (if needed) and have wired as well as wireless connections available.

But the connection is much more stable, which I attribute to it just being a much simpler device overall (no router functionality, no wifi access point functionality, etc)

So I decided to drop another $150 or so on an additional LB2120 to use as a backup connection for home traffic since the Spectrum business class cable fails multiple times for at least a few minutes and sometimes hours every day
