We bought this to put in our basement since we were having spotty connections.

our whole house, including 2 patios outside, are now covered with FAST & effective service & connections

On the second level of my house in the farthest room away from my router there is a significant drop in signal to the point where if I have multiple devices connected it all but kills the connection in that room

This Extender function was exactly what I needed to "tap off" of my Verizon wireless router 3 rooms away, to provide ethernet ports on the back of this Netgear AC1900/EX7000 to feed to a 16-port switch on my main computer desk....where I have 4 permanently wired computers, and various "visiting" computers, all sharing that AC1900 connection back to the Verizon router at full speed....works great

Sure it does extend it, but what good is a wider radius with a awful connection?

My internet is very fast now that I have a solid Wifi connection.

The downside is the 5g doesn't provide reliable connections so avoid it

Upgraded old Netgear router with Nighthawk AC1900 (R7000) and added the AC1900 Extender to get better wireless Internet throughout my home....easy setup and now have better and stronger wi-fi connection.

Problems which lower the rating are inconsistent wireless connections to various devices and the hoops Netgear makes you jump through to get support

The wireless connection is strong, even through the noisy NYC airspace

It turns out that the WPS is only useful in a minority of circumstances and that the manual method is BY FAR the most stable connection, in the long run.
