I was getting a heavy amount of lag, even with DMZ settings to my gaming PC, and it seemed like when I would have both WiFi and my Ethernet connection going, the router struggled

Without going into specs, basically, if your router and/or modem is not equipped to be able to serve fast speeds to your home and be able to handle peak hours and slow downs from neighbors using their services at the same time, you need to buy a better router and/or modem
