NETGEAR Nighthawk X8 AC5000 Tri-band WiFi Router, Gigabih Ethernet, MU-MIMO, Compatible with Amazon Echo/Alexa (R8300)

    • The performance of this is great, the software has some nice features, but us very behind the times for working with Parental controls, WiFi scheduling and other things that are important these days for anyone whom wants to control the amount and time of day that you want available for kids and their devices
    • I particularly enjoy the port aggregation feature when connecting to my QNAP NAS
    • I used the smart connect feature to allow the router to select the best band for each device to maximize performance
    • I turned on the smart connect which I think is an excellent feature for automatically handling / assinging your device to the 5ghz band that is less loaded.
    • The GUI interface is feature-filled and intuitive
    • speed on all device(please check smart connect feature box
    • I'm giving this 2 Stars, When it works its great, I love the features, we mostly run 5g devices, with a few older 2.4 ones, the dual channel 5g is super for a lot of 5G devices, we put 2 gaming consoles on one 5g channel and phones and Tablets on another channel, we Run a surfboard 6190 modem it's stated 32Dwld and
    • One unique benefit of the Nighthawk is the feature of allowing for 3 separate Wi-Fi networks simultaneously
    • This router has a bunch of really useful features
    • has many useful features
    • I of course went back in to change my SSID and password, as well as enable the cool features such as Smart Connect and Dynamic QoS. Doing so was incredibly smooth and easy thanks to the very friendly and easy to use Web Interface to interact with the router settings
    • The knighthawk phone application looked dated and did not have as many useful features
    • The Dynamic QoS feature is amazing
    • All the nice features such as usb on the side of the unit
    • Great performance and features
    • The SMART Connect feature is another feather in cap
    • The system provides two 5GHz radio signals (high & low) which is integrated with a smart connect feature which assigns devices to the best freq.- Dual Core 1.4 GHz processor- 6 gigabit
    • Lots of great features to keep tabs on children and their internet use
    • It recognizes that this feature is available and offers to shut it off in order for the R8500 to be the wireless router gaining the performance of both devices
    • Love the controlling features
    • The Smart Connect feature is pretty amazing, it’s able to detect the type of device and select the best WIFI band for it and all it takes to enable this feature is just a checkbox.
    • VPN server is my favorite feature.
    • The features seem standard for a router of this class, but easily accessible
    • Style points won't help functionality, which is the most important feature of a router, but it doesn't hurt that this thing looks like a sci-fi movie creation
    • They missing feature is to have a anti virus inside it
    • Love the tri-band and guest network features
    • The Dynamic QoS feature solved the Remote Desktop latency problems we were having in our small 15-person office
    • Generally, this feature is often available in enterprise switches and routers and the R8500 is the first consumer router that includes this
    • I setup both bands (2.4 and 5Ghz) and played with the smart connect feature
    • I am using 10% of this routers capabilities right now, but in the future I will be adding a VPN, Remote management, parental controls, guest connections, and creating a setup for my favorite feature Ethernet port aggregation
    • The most useful, to me, are the antenna beam forming, and the Smart Connect features, which sort out the different types of wireless connections to ensure the best connection for each device, and send the most signal possible towards your device (as opposed to omnidirectional signal, sort of
    • 1- despite what seemed like sturdy packaging, one of the antennae covers was disconnected and doesn't stay on, I had to tape it on to keep it covered and this was right out of the package, and 2- similar to many other reviewers' experiences, the USB storage does not work, I was hoping to do a virtual backup from a couple computers on the network, but after trying to set this up for several hours and with a couple different USB hard-drives, the USB on the router would not recognize any hard drive for back-up, it's a shame too because I think that would be a great feature in a router and was hoping to finally have a solution for regular back-up of our systems.
    • App integrates with ease and offers rich feature set
    • I do love the features it offers, and the phone app is a cool addition as well
    • I am selling it to someone else because it is not as reliable as the lower featured models for half the price
    • This routers has also has very nice features like the option of making a printer airprint compatible so that I can print from my iPad and iPhone
    • A lot of fantastic features
    • It was very easy to disable the "aggregate" feature and use all 6 Ethernet ports for other devices.
    • Currently I am using a usb drive to act as by backup, but the neat feature of this router is the opportunity to teather the first two eathernet ports together and use gigabit NAS, providing a remady to this slight visual obscurity
    • Just spend hours trying to figure out their "Ready Cloud" feature only to find out via their support chat, that this feature Ready Cloud has been removed from all Netgear routers
    • Impressive features and simple setup interface.
    • I like the Smart Connect feature which combines both 5G radios with the same SSID
    • Great features.
    • Another handy feature is this connected to my other nighthawk router and self configured as an access point.
    • Smart feature enabled that combines the 5GHz bands-60mg Cable connection-Updated to latest firmwareUPDATE
    • The most useful are the beam forming and the Smart Connect features
    • FEATURE IS THAT IT WORKS AND PROVIDES
    • BUT ...I recommend upgrading to a CAT7 patch cable from modem to this router to enjoy the maximum features and benefits.
    • Nice features.
    • Setting up these two drives with ReadyShare on the X8 is so easy and convenient, it's one of my favorite features
    • This product would have gotten a 5 because it really deserves it except for the fact that the Ready Cloud feature is not dependable and many people have problems with this
    • The ambient temperatures I measured since I the router began operation has never exceeded 79ºF; right now it's 78ºF.Because of this, the router reliability is likely marginal, maybe because of bad thermal design
    • Overall, I really wanted this product to work as it was impressive while it did work
    • Keeps up with a PS4 and PS4 Pro running simultaneously as well as with many other devices
    • I like that the lights are on top as
    • The router also did not work as it was supposed to: I just couldnt connect at all to the 2.4 GHz band (Netgear73)
    • It is probably something I am doing wrong, but reverted back to old router as it is just easier.- Size: Without a doubt this is the biggest (2 - 3 times bigger) router I ever seen.
    • n’t have the radio issue but was getting BSoDs using their own USB-AC68 but that’s for another review.
    • I love t
