The performance of this is great, the software has some nice features, but us very behind the times for working with Parental controls, WiFi scheduling and other things that are important these days for anyone whom wants to control the amount and time of day that you want available for kids and their devices

I particularly enjoy the port aggregation feature when connecting to my QNAP NAS

I used the smart connect feature to allow the router to select the best band for each device to maximize performance

I turned on the smart connect which I think is an excellent feature for automatically handling / assinging your device to the 5ghz band that is less loaded.

I of course went back in to change my SSID and password, as well as enable the cool features such as Smart Connect and Dynamic QoS. Doing so was incredibly smooth and easy thanks to the very friendly and easy to use Web Interface to interact with the router settings

The knighthawk phone application looked dated and did not have as many useful features

I setup both bands (2.4 and 5Ghz) and played with the smart connect feature

The most useful, to me, are the antenna beam forming, and the Smart Connect features, which sort out the different types of wireless connections to ensure the best connection for each device, and send the most signal possible towards your device (as opposed to omnidirectional signal, sort of

1- despite what seemed like sturdy packaging, one of the antennae covers was disconnected and doesn't stay on, I had to tape it on to keep it covered and this was right out of the package, and 2- similar to many other reviewers' experiences, the USB storage does not work, I was hoping to do a virtual backup from a couple computers on the network, but after trying to set this up for several hours and with a couple different USB hard-drives, the USB on the router would not recognize any hard drive for back-up, it's a shame too because I think that would be a great feature in a router and was hoping to finally have a solution for regular back-up of our systems.

I do love the features it offers, and the phone app is a cool addition as well

I am selling it to someone else because it is not as reliable as the lower featured models for half the price

This routers has also has very nice features like the option of making a printer airprint compatible so that I can print from my iPad and iPhone

A lot of fantastic features

It was very easy to disable the "aggregate" feature and use all 6 Ethernet ports for other devices.

Currently I am using a usb drive to act as by backup, but the neat feature of this router is the opportunity to teather the first two eathernet ports together and use gigabit NAS, providing a remady to this slight visual obscurity

Just spend hours trying to figure out their "Ready Cloud" feature only to find out via their support chat, that this feature Ready Cloud has been removed from all Netgear routers

This product would have gotten a 5 because it really deserves it except for the fact that the Ready Cloud feature is not dependable and many people have problems with this

The ambient temperatures I measured since I the router began operation has never exceeded 79ºF; right now it's 78ºF.Because of this, the router reliability is likely marginal, maybe because of bad thermal design

Overall, I really wanted this product to work as it was impressive while it did work
