My conclusion is either hardware failure (likely capacitors) or firmware bricking.

I'm finally writing a review after the 2nd unit I received also had a hardware failure, similar to the first one

The X8 has a long and well documented history of having a high amount of hardware failure

It is probably something I am doing wrong, but reverted back to old router as it is just easier.- Size: Without a doubt this is the biggest (2 - 3 times bigger) router I ever seen.

The ambient temperatures I measured since I the router began operation has never exceeded 79ºF; right now it's 78ºF.Because of this, the router reliability is likely marginal, maybe because of bad thermal design
