• Reviews around app (3.70 of 5)

NETGEAR Orbi Ultra-Performance Whole Home Mesh WiFi System - fastest WiFi router and single satellite extender with speeds up to 3 Gbps over 5,000 sq. feet, AC3000 (RBK50)

    • Just like other Orbi devices, you use the app and go through a simple pairing procedure.
    • The app is good for initial setup but the router website is needed for detailed setup
    • Since installing it (which was terrific and easy using the app), we haven’t lost our signal in our bedroom or in the upstairs corner of the house
    • Two stars because the app is good, and during the brief periods when the Orbi + Satellite network was actually working, wifi speed was great in every part of my home
    • Although there were many reviews saying that set up was complicated, I did not find it was that difficult using the app and the internet interface
    • Yes, it’s fast, but the Orbi RBR50 should be more elegant, should operate more smoothly, should have a good-looking app.
    • Setup is incredibly easy, fast, with a wonderful app to facilitate the process
    • The rep said to ignore that status message: that the app was buggy but to trust the network was working properly.
    • Easy setup and the app is great.
    • However, the list of things that are in the don't work camp are- as a router (setup UI is literally unfinished, default router settings cause sub-1mbit speeds at random)- with wired backhaul, the required firmware version breaks mesh support completely, and trying an ethernet backhaul causes a broadcast storm.- from a phone (the app is terrible and has about a total of 6 options, and shows wrong info)If you live somewhere that needs orbi in API instead of router
    • The app is great.
    • Easy to set up and the app is intuitive and functional
    • Both the app AND the instructions you are meant to follow for setup were WRONG - no wonder it took so bloody long to be able to get this satellite to join the same network!!!
    • Great app
    • The app makes setup a breeze and the powerful base and
    • They were drop dead simple to setup, have the best router app I've ever used, and perform fantastically
    • And the app is awesome and very easy too.
    • App on iphone is also very easy to use.
    • The app definitely could use a little work.
    • The app is extremely intuitive and easily lets me monitor and control my whole system
    • It was easy to set up and extremely easy to monitor with a user friendly app
    • A full host of great features easily accessed on the user friendly app
    • The apps suck, and the web interface for updating firmware isn't great.
    • It's a bit pricey, but worth it--the app is great too with plenty of functionality.
    • Setup was very easy using the Android app
    • Little longer to hook up than advertised, app not all that great
    • With the free app, installation was quick and easy
    • I recommend not using the traffic monitoring as it seems to crash the app
    • Legit, one of the worst apps to use for setup and maintenance
    • Finally the mobile app is perfect, it shows you who is connected and lets you pause the wifi to that device
    • Oh, there is a nice mobile app that can show what devices are connected and the status of the network
    • And the app simplifies trouble shooting.
    • Great app as well.
    • So again, not a pretty app and
    • And I love the parental controls and easy mobile app set up
    • *Note, the app is worthless for the most part.
    • Both the app AND the instructions you are meant to follow for setup were WRONG - no wonder it took so bloody long to be able to get this satellite to join the same network!!!
    • Easy set up using the iPhone app
    • The app is awkward to use, constantly has upsells (that don't respect if you click 'Dont remind me again'), and hasn't added support for the iPhone X after ~6months.
    • The rep said to ignore that status message: that the app was buggy but to trust the network was working properly.
    • It was easy to set up, the app is great
    • The app didn’t work.
    • Great devices but app is annoying as it asks me to set up the device ever time I open it
    • App works well also
    • Easy to use, love the app to monitor status & connected devices.
    • At least this app doesn't pretend to offer more than rudimentary functions.
    • The app is horrible
    • The set up was incredibly easy and the app is easy to use, I love being able to monitor usage.
    • No basement connection, the app isn't compatible, no PS4 connection, and no way to get to the Orbi router configuration page
    • The app is great
    • Also love the app that lets me monitor activity and make changes!!
    • Love the app too
    • The app is easy to use and I can 'pause' anyone connected (my kids) if needed
    • The app is easy to use and provides good network control
    • The app for iPhone is really nice too, very easy to see how many devices are connected - with an easy toggle switch to turn them off if needed for some reason
    • it gives decent ability to change things within the router and a nice app on the phone.
    • Unboxing was very Apple-like, setup was intuitive, and the app is very easy to use
    • Nice NetGear App with simple and fast settings
    • This router does not give that and recommends Disney app for that which is a subscription based service
    • It was the cheapest of the three, offered easy hardware setup and configuration, a clean app with more features than the Google Wifi, and painless ethernet backhaul.
    • Simple set up excellent app for control
    • The instructions, even thought meant to be simple, still read a little like tax form instructions with jargon that an older individual may not be familiar with, but the system fired up quickly and the app made testing easy.
    • The app is horrible.
    • It was inexpensive, easy to set up, and the app was easy to use and configure, although it was relatively simplistic and lacked some features I was hoping for (such as very limited content filtering).
    • Works as advertised and easy to set up, plus the app is great as well
    • It has boosted my cell phone booster coverage as
    • It just works as they say
    • So now non-tech family members have to mess with network properties as they come and go.
    • This simple setup alleviates signal and transfer issues encountered throughout the odd shape of the floorplan as well as across multiple floors.
    • Believe the hype, this actually works exactly as they say it will
    • The wired backhaul feature doesn't work as of last weeks auto-update
    • I have the base system, as well as, the outdoor satellite.
    • We picked this over the eero despite the bigger form factor due to ethernet ports as well as I think it'll vent better than small pucks
    • I have a gigabit speed she complained a
    • The outdoor satellite is shooting a signal about 500 feet to our smart garden irrigation system, as well as, covering our three greenhouses which utilize smart environmental control systems
    • The back haul capability is either not completely developed yet or is a dream as is clear it is not fully supported as of now.
    • I can saturate my 300mb/s connection from anywhere in my house now as well as in my garage and back patio
