You get more abilities like the leaf, which lets you fly, gold flowers which is better than the flower, and adds gold coins to your counter, and the gold lwaf, which allows you to fly without having to run as far as witb the regular leaf

Sure, there's the gold flower, and it's definitely fun to use, but it's basically a souped-up fire flower - you throw gold fireballs at enemies to gain coins, and at brick blocks to turn them into coins

Many fun levels, the gold flower and turtle shells are a hoot!

Besides the added Golden Fire Flower, New Super Mario Bros. 2 also allows you to wear the Tanooki Suit from Super Mario Bros. 3 or more recently used in Super Mario 3D Land and World (as stated above)

This new edition comes with new powerups such as the tanooki tail, gold flower, and gold rings

Because of the new coin theme, there's a new power up to use: the gold flower

That means after completing a level I have to find another Gold Flower somewhere else

There is aldo the gold flower, which will turn you into Gold mario and Silver Luigi where you can fire at bricks and turn them into coins, and your foes and make them spit out and fire coins at you from Lakitu and the Hammer Brothers

There isn't a whole lot of new items or moves for Mario besides the gold flower and gold brick
