This is a solid mug warmer, and in my office, has drawn the attention of my colleagues as my iCoffee Warmer, owing to the fact that it looks like an iPod on my desk

I had a previous mug warmer that fell apart and nearly caused a house fire after I left a mug on it overnight, so I wanted something with an auto shut off function

I highly recommend this mug warmer.

I should mention that as recommended by the manufacturer, I use a thin mug with a completely flat bottom

You need a pretty hefty mug for this to work, if your mug is too lite it will shut off

I have another mug warmer that does a better job of heating the mug, and the underside never gets beyond warm, and stays cool enough to touch - it’s nothing special, just a simple on off switch with no timer or anything fancy

It's super convenient to use because all you have to do is lay your mug on the stand and it automatically turns on once it detects the weight of your mug, and automatically turns itself off when you remove your mug

15 to 20 minutes later I go to grab my mug for a quick sip, and notice the mug felt uneven, as though the warmer was sitting on something and causing it to rock a little

I understand that the safety feature would eventually turn it off, but I'd rather be able to turn it off and use it as a coaster v having to remember to set my mug elsewhere or risk it getting hot while empty.

It heated up a nice thick ceramic mug of coffee that even had a slightly concave bottom.
