• Reviews around daughter (1.29 of 5)

    NieR - Playstation 3

    • The game's basic plot involves Nier, a man that must take care of his sick daughter while ridding the world of horrible creatures
    • The world is plagued by monsters called shades that seem to have some sort of rational thought and some strange connection to the sickness that plagues his daughter
    • The story is a simple one but it will pull you in as you really start to feel for your poor sick daughter in the game and become willing to do anything to save her, the fighting mechanic is also simple but rewarding, and has aspects of the Demon's Souls fighting mechanic, games in my opinion that have tons and tons of different button presses are unnecesary and are just showing a lack of gameplay content, you can usually finish those types of games just using two or three of the million button presses
    • You start as a man/mercenary that is trying to find a cure for his sick daughter
    • To keep it simple, you play in Nier as one character, who is searching for a cure for his sick daughter
    • I don't like having to feel guilt tripped by a sick dying daughter all the time
    • The two travel around searching out sealed verses that they think hold the key to curing the daughter's sickness
    • The main character is a little bit shallow (as in not well developed...not as in frat boy shallow) but that is largely due to the story
    • The storyline is overly simplistic and E-rated, taking place in perhaps a total of five (small) locations through which you continually backtrack
