Autofocus is great on this as well as manual focus.
-
fast focus and range is why I use it a lot.
-
There are also some ergonomic improvements, such as a usable focus ring which lets you override the autofocus
-
The photos are crisp with excellent color reproduction and focus was fast.
-
This makes it quite hard to rock the focus in and out to hit the correct focus

Fast focus, better at focus than my 18-135mm especially in darker settings.

This is a good lens (fast focus, nice build, quiet), but not optically superior (ok in sharpness but not great), and still expensive.
-
Received the lens in the original Nikon Box new as described, the Lens is super fast focusing and lighter most zoom lenses

Good luck getting a good manual focus if you are in any sort of hurry
-
I also like using the manual focus for night shots
-
Very slow auto focus

focus is fast & accurate
-
It's also a quiet focus.

Regarding sharp focus: I'm not convinced that this lens has any problems beyond the usual, but I do plan to use the autofocus fine-tune on my D7000 to calibrate the autofocus as well as possible for the focal range I usually use
-
Not as sharp as a single focus
-
The pros:Focus is fast and accurate, even in poor light
-
Good and fair value, but very heavy and a little soft focus.
-
Sharp images and quick focusing with an awesome range.
-
This lens has a very touchy manual focus mode
-
The focusing is fast and accurate and the vibration reduction works well letting you take hand held shots in fairly low light conditions
-
no creep, fast focus, on my

Optical design is difficult, and some things like variable focal length pose serious challenges with the elements that correct stuff like the spherical distortion enemy of sharp focus
