    Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Close-up Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras

    • Used in on Nikon 7100 and 5600 ; great image quality / enthusiast’s dream
    • The images are sharp from edge to edge and in the corners.
    • I compared both lenses by shooting a dollar bill and both images looked sharp.
    • Pros:-Tack sharp images, especially with stabilization (tripod + remote, etc)-Manual focus is smooth and works well (good for me because I do a lot of focus stacking)-Works well for macro and landscape (granted these won't be wide-angle landscape shots)-Fantastic for waterfall photography
    • "PERFECT".The lens takes tack sharp images
    • Captures beautiful images.
    • It produces a very sharp image.
    • Took it out of the box, let it warm up, and proceeded to shoot some the sharpest images ever to come out of my D7k.
    • The images are just magnificent
    • The lens is fast and the images are tack sharp.
    • Love the bokeh, but mainly use this for photographing my art work, which can range from 12 x 12" to 4' x 5', there is no barrel distortion and the images crisp and clear.
    • For the $ this lens is a good buy if you are getting into macro photography and provides very clear images.
    • This is a great intro to macro lens especially for the price, it gets you get super close to your subject and produces razor sharp images wether you're a seasoned pro or the novice photographer
    • The lens came in good time and is well made and is very sharp, takes great micro photos of bugs, flowers and land scapes and people on my Nikon D3200.Update: after a year and 8000 plus photo's the lens is failing, making a grinding noise when auto focusing and does not want to auto focus, right, after hundreds of photo's and 2 different Nikon D3200 cameras, on tripod and hand held can no longer get clear images in macro mode with lens set on auto, manual focus seems to work ok so far
    • Takes beautiful, sharp images - a real pleasure working with this.
    • While it is possible to get a good image at lower settings, I found that f16 at 1/250 was the minimum to guarantee a sharp image.
    • Macro images are particularly beautiful.
    • It produces beautiful, sharp images at all distances.
    • You will still get a clean image after you pull your cousin's priceless face out of a room full of family
    • I'll break this down into pros and cons, though the only cons are really just inconveniences; this lens can produce flawless images
    • I was on a budget so this fit my needs and can produce some super sharp images.
    • Good image - close up.
    • I'll break this down into pros and cons, though the only cons are really just inconveniences; this lens can produce flawless images
    • it's great for larger objects like flowers or product shots, as well as it's general prime use, and much easier to carry than a 105.
    • I was excited when I ordered this and felt I couldn't wait for it to come in, and much to my surprise when I placed my order on Amazon, the vendor just happened to be offering free next day shipping, I ordered the lens late morning Friday and it came before noon Saturday, (yes, not only free next day shipping but free Saturday delivery as well) just as they promised, and in well padded packaging
    • I could take advantage of the D7000 being able to use this cheaper non-G lens
    • 60mm f2.8G ED N which works as a 90mm on the smaller DX-format DSLR
    • It isn't as good as my 50mm 1.8g or my 35mm 1.8g for general use but that really wasn't what i bought it for
