Have used it for Landscapes, night photos and even indoors at a poorly lit gym for a volleyball match (got some great shots at 1/640).

Highly recommend for crisp, clear shots!

The autofocus works great on my DX body and I haven't missed any shots so far, even in low light situations.

But this 35mm works great indoor shots

I've found that shots are only sharp in the center when it's wide open at 1.8, but like other users, I normally shoot at 2.8 to get get more of the subject in focus.

Money well invested, great shots, build quality and performance superb.

This lens has helped me capture great shots

so you have to move around more, but the great shots are worth the effort

Since getting it, it has given me beautiful portrait shots, and close ups on animals and plants

I try to stop down to 1.8 on any nice sunny day and get fantastic shots of the kids

and i know when i see bad shots photos.i was missing lots off good shots because i did not have a 35mm lens that"s as good as the 35mm f/1.8G AF-s DX lens that i recently purchased from amazon.

The shots that I have taken so far with this lens has been super sharp

Another lens to consider would be the AF-S 40 mm f/2.8 macro - this is a slightly less wide focal length but is sharp from f/2.8 and has the advantage that you can get very, very close to subjects for genuine macro shots, so it gives you another feature if you don't mind losing a little light

I got some fantastic shots at a late evening wedding and even an indoor New Years eve party.

You'll need to practice to get nice shots at 1.8 if you are a newbie like me, but when they come out correctly, i feel like a pro.

I love it, takes some getting used too but well worth it, great low light shots, quick and more compact.

All shots are tripod-free (no tripod), with a B+W 52mm Clear UV Haze filter, and on a D3300 body.

Plus the wide aperture allows you do get great nighttime long exposure shots of the stars

This lens is very crisp, and just takes amazing shots over the kit lens that came with my camera.

Makes me feel more like a photographer framing my shots by putting the camera where it needs to be as opposed to sitting across the room on a bench zooming in

so you have to position yourself for the best shots

I have a 50mm prime lens that offers great shots, but this 35mm lens offers AWESOME shots!

but I got it for available light, indoor shots and was not impressed.

This one takes incredibly clear shots, beautiful bokeh - absolutely love it ... and it has changed my approach to photography.

As long as you can zoom with your feet, this generates great artistic shots without even trying and has taught me a lot about the value of aperture control in photography

Great lens, takes fantastic shots for an amateur, use it way more than the 18-55 VR that comes stock with the D5500.

With Auto focus enabled you can get great shots right out of the box

but it still takes good shots

With such a fast shutter it’s easier to catch the best shots of my constantly moving kids

And beimg able to take the f stop down to 1.8 makes for some great low light shots

f1.8 is amazing to take some greats shots with blur.

The shots were great and I had decent depth of field (a young boy and his dog)

The f1.8 provides the ability to do some awesome artistic shots, and in general the prime lenses seem to shoot at a higher quality than variable lenses.

It is perfect, and gives some of the crispest shots you will take with your D3000/3100/3200/3300, D5000/D5100/D5200/D5300If you have never used a Prime lens, this is some of the best money you will spend, if you are hoping to take lots of family pictures, portrate shots, or up close of the baby.

The wide aperture makes it really easy to get sweet bokehlicious shots in low light

Image quality is great and you can get some pretty crazy low aperture shots with it

If you're still using the kit lens on your nikon as I was, you'll realize the "incredible" shots you got pale in comparison to what you'll get with this little prime beauty

I also recommended a tripod for night outdoor shots for even clearer pictures

You'll appreciate your shots that much more knowing you had to work a littler harder and get a little closer for them.

You need to walk a lot to frame a prime lens, but the shots will be beautiful

If this lens works for your needs, do not hesitate, took nice shots, but I can not afford a ton of equipment and just buy what I need.

The F/1.8 really allows for much better low lighting indoor shots.

Low light shots are also very nice with very little noise

It takes awesome close up shots for portraits as well as fantastic low light shots

but once i switched to the prime lenses, I saw a big improvement in image sharpness, better bokeh, and it allows you to be more creative with the compositions because you have to look for the right angles and move around to get really nice shots

Can't wait to have more fun with this lens and looking forward to many beautiful shots with it once I get to know it's full capacity.

I've done several great shots with this lens.

The interior of our house wasn't particularly well-lit, and even using the speedlight we had, we still were getting a lot of grainy shots

I didn't feel like the pics I got was worth lugging around compared to a decent compact P&S or smartphone

The 1.8 f/s is amazing with low light and makes it for most of panoramic pictures.
