Yes, there are faster lenses and if you're a pro with a big budget then by all means spend the money and get a faster zoom lens

These two lenses together allow me to do pretty much whatever I want/need to do with my camera (though I would like to eventually add a macro close-up lens as well).I use my camera mainly for taking snapshots of things, but I also do a lot of nature photography, including birds in flight

This lense is great for what I needed, and I consider it to be a very good value for the price.

I have a d5300 and this lens is all I use, I never change out anymore and my other lenses have been collecting dust since I got this.

As for the lens itself, it's a fantastic lense for mid-level DSLR's, seems to be very sharp for the price point, and has helped me take some really great photos so far
