The zoom is great

Last week (and believe me I don't use this lens a lot) at a very important event, as I twisted the zoom, the lens broke into a million pieces.

I would have been willing to spend a little more for this lens to have the instant manuel focus overide and faster focus of the 70-300 and smoother zoom action which is why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5.

This is a great lens I am able to take some close ups and they come out very clear and the Zoom on it is amazing, brings everything up close to you

This lens however is so easy to focus manually even at maximum zoom that I have to wonder why you would even need the auto focus feature

As a beginner photographer, I don't really have much money to spend on lenses, and I really needed a good zoom lens since what I normally take pictures of (my dogs) runs around.
