Unlike others who have reviewed this lens, my copy focused exceptionally well with no need to “fine tune

Some minor fine tuning might be needed on a higher resolution D810(?)

The auto focus fine tune requirement for this lens varies through the zoom range, +12 at 24mm,

I have tried AF Fine tune on my D4 and D810 bodies, as well as disabling the VR function, all to no avail.

AF is spot on and consistent through all focal lengths, no AF fine tune needed

After spending a lot of time getting more experience with the Lens Align target I found the my E version front focuses equally at all focal length requiring a +3 adjustment in fine tune

In his tests he had the same focus problem another review had where at different focal lengths, fine tuning could require either + or – adjustment making it impossible to autofocus accurately throughout the entire zoom range

I played around with fine tune a bit but couldn't find something I was happy with throughout the focal range.
