It takes outstanding quality photos

Great quality and a great step up for those who want to advance from the starter models such as D3100 and D3200.

but after checking both out this was the better quality camera

I love my D90 and the quality of pictures and the D5200 equals the quality if not an improvement.

Great image sensor quality produces outstanding pictures to cherish for life!

Let me start this out by saying that the quality of this camera was far beyond what I expected, producing incredible quality shots and videos all from a simple kit lens

It also takes more pictures one after the other faster and with better quality

So I will just say that the quality of photos that I took were amazing

The D5200 produces extremely good quality images just like the D3200

It's a great camera that's easy to use, packed with features and produces amazing quality images.

To get any meaningfully better image quality you'd have to go to a full frame, expensive and heavy prosumer or professional model camera, and the improvement isn't much, at that

The performance, the auto-focus, the result, low light performance, and a massive 24 mega pixels give me enough room to crop/edit and still retain great image quality

The 5200 has a good feature set, and takes nice quality pics, but I found that far too many functions I use on a regular basis were buried in the menus.

Multiple auto settings makes it a easy and fast to use while the manual setting help put you in charge of the outcome
