Nikon D5200 24.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera Body Only (Black)

    • More than enough presets and forgiving auto modes for a beginner as well as full manual shooting
    • Try shooting in total darkness with any other camera series (except the 4th generation Olympus Pen) and the camera will simply refuse to auto-focus.
    • The best way to describe is the point and shot is like watching regular TV while the pic from this camera are like HD TV.
    • The D5200 has also a very fast shoot sequence on RAW extension, you get 5 pictures per second!
    • I race and shoot pics for motocross which is very demanding on a camera to get a crisp shot
    • I will continue to use my small Nikon digital and point and shoot being happy still with the results.
    • I recommend this to anyone who is interested in beginning camera work of any type, as the versatility of this camera is beyond your average point and shoot.
    • Great improvement on my little point a shoot, still getting a hand on basic funtionality
    • My wife is getting into photography and I've noticed she sometimes loses a shot when she changes out lenses
    • I wanted a camera on which I could quickly change the ISO so I could go from a bright sunny outside to a dimly lit inside and not miss a great shot because I was looking down fiddling with a menu on an LCD screen instead of looking up at a beautiful opportunity for a picture
    • Even at full telephoto the low light shooting is great
    • Still, I gave this camera the best shot I could
    • First I spent about 20 hours researching DSLR's from about $200 cheaper to about $400 more expensive because I wanted to upgrade from a Pentax 35mm and a pretty decent Fuji 16MP 15x RAW shooting, point and shoot
    • The camera focuses quickly and shooting is a breeze
    • Maybe it's a defect on just my camera, but it's been very disappointing especially when I thought I had a great, rare shot of a toddler who won't sit down
    • Nikon is choosing to refer to it as the "flagship of Nikon's DX-format HD-SLR lineup" and it's hard to see what the fabled D400 could add ... other than a larger full-metal body and faster continuous shooting with a bigger buffer
    • shooting is superb on this camera.
    • The D5200 has been great, i have been taking much sharper pictures and i continue to play with the manual mode to perfect my shot
    • Sony somehow made the older A55 easier than the A65 and A77 at getting a clean and noise free shot (maybe due to sensor difference)
    • It didn't take long to really get a good grasp, and since I picked up the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 shooting has been amazing
    • , i.e. shutter speed with a speed flash will not go faster than 1/250 s, etc
    • Switched from Canon Rebel DSLR’s to Nikon and glad I made the switch.
    • It will only auto-focus with the proprietary Nikon AF-S and expensive Nikon AF-1 lenses
