Video is good, although it would be nice if Nikon would allow you to switch exposure settings during filming (you can't without stopping and going out of liveview)
-
Video with continue autofocus with the Nikon lens is better than ever
-
Let me start this out by saying that the quality of this camera was far beyond what I expected, producing incredible quality shots and videos all from a simple kit lens
-
Highly recommended for the articulating screen, great sensor and great video at a reasonable price.
-
Shoots nice videos having a blast with it.
-
Video is superb as well.
-
This camera performs really well, takes really great pics and the videos are super clear too
-
The manual is easy to read, and the video is very helpful for beginners
-
Not amazing but certainly better than any phone or cheap video camera
-
She loves it and the instructional video is perfect for getting started
-
No reason to change over to the 60D, this camera takes great video when you put a good lens on it (I used the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 lens set to aperture of 2.8, Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6, and Sigma 18-50
-
You get the latest 24mp sensor, live view, great video, tilt and swivel screen, fast autofocus, and superlative ISO and image quality, usually for around $300 used with the kit telephoto, and this is an upgrade from the basic entry level D3200 in every way
-
Even using the camera as a point and shoot I have taken some amazing photos - it works pretty well as a video camera as well, though by default the video resolution is very high and takes up a ton of space - the only drawback aside from that is the placement of the microphone - it's right by the lens, so if you use the auto focus feature, the mic picks up the sound of the lens motors.
-
And that video is astounding
-
good auto focus- good pictures in all light conditions, that's the reason to buy it, also for the video as well- shoots great video!!!- great flashNegative- weird skin tones color sometimes
-
Video looks great, although there is just a bit of softness that can be cleaned up in post.
-
Yes, I would recommend this camera easily because this is all around great performer with a very good video
-
If you're after image-quality, video-quality, versatility, and affordability, I'd say this is the best DSLR you can get for under $1k USD
-
Great images and video
-
Video is definitely good not saying anything bad..though Canon has a little edge in this department over Nikon.
-
Shoots great videos and superb pictures depending on the lens attached
-
Better video, better digital imaging, nice weight with a flip out screen
-
Oh and the video is pretty good too
-
why does not anyone tell that the nikon d5200 has a clean uncompresed video out at the highest quality??that is sooo important,,you can now record to a field recorder like the atamos ninja at raw video out with HDMI clean video output..that was the only reason i got this
-
The video looks horrible and this camera was a waste of money
-
Within the year I have had many burnt pixels and bad video glitching on all of my videos
-
Improved video quality, stereo
-
and I selected a lighter, smaller camera body with the newer sensor, pixel size, toggle screen, easy video shooting over the durability, weather proofing of the D7000
-
I bought this for video and its amazing video quality
-
Additionally, it also takes great video.
-
HD video-Amazing
-
It is just like an average point and shoot camera, the still pictures are good (not excellent) the video is horrible about 25% of the time it could not focus, indoors it has a hard time to control the exposure
-
There is a great review by "Faymous Media" that provides a nice video of the capabilities and specs
-
My D 200 works with just about every lens
