Nikon D5300 24.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with Built-in Wi-Fi and GPS Body Only (Red)

    • Your EN-EL-14 batteries will work in it
    • so focus is slow- video can now be captured in 1080P resolution at 60 frames per second- slightly smaller and lighter camera body, without (in my experience) sacrificing handling- higher capacity battery (EN-EL14a) provides 600 CIPA shots per charge vs 500 on the D5200/EN-EL14 (but if you turn on GPS and WiFi, the battery drains much faster)And, if you're upgrading from a D5100, the D5300 carries over these improvements from the D5200:- dramatic focus improvement: 39-point AF, 9 cross-type AF points, and 3D focus
    • Not only it is useless for the trip, it also drain the battery much faster than I like or expect
    • and you run the risk of forgetting it is on there and a few hours later picking up a camera with a dead battery
    • but I haven't been able to get the GPS coordinates embedded in JPG files- lightweight, great battery lifeWithout a
    • Not only the GPS is close to useless, it also drain battery much quicker
    • Not only it is useless for the trip, it also drain the battery much faster than I like or expect
    • Remote control function is pointless via phone...GPS is in and out and drains battery.
    • The battery is superb
    • Battery back-up could be improved . . .
    • Also, all my lenses from the D3100 work on this camera, as well as the batteries.
    • With the GPS on, the battery can be drained with as little as 200-300 shoots
    • GPS drains battery quickly, so only turn it on when you really want to Geo
    • Built-in flash is not good• Battery life is not good, even gps & wifi eats more battery, spare battery highly recommended• AF works best with inbuilt motor lens unlike D7100,but manual focus is not an issue
    • Built-in flash is not good• Battery life is not good, even gps & wifi eats more battery, spare battery highly recommended• AF works best with inbuilt motor lens unlike D7100,but manual focus is not an issue
    • Besides built-in flash use is guaranteed to drain the batteries quickly
    • High battery drain with gps on, even when camera is asleep.
    • If you leave this camera in OFF for a week or so, battery is usually dead when you come to use the camera !
    • However this kills the battery in as little as 20 minutes
    • Great battery life (new to me, compared to point-and-shoots)5
    • Although it includes the new En-EL14A battery, old EN-EL 14 battery still works
    • It has good battery life, great photos (when you know what your doing and are on the right settings), good video, and a good fit and finish (for me)
    • It also made this function not very practical to use when travelling as the smart devices' memory are much smaller than the SD card and the prolong use of Wi-Fi seems draining the battery quickly
    • I will say that as fast as those cards are, you almost want faster.
    • I have a lot to learn about it's use and am the functions, as well as how to take a great picture
    • ISO then you might find the camera frustrating as you sometimes will have to navigate the software on the camera.
