Nikon D5300 24.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with Built-in Wi-Fi and GPS Body Only (Red)

    • The 18-140 lens has worked great for me when on vacation, zoo, travel, and walking around.
    • I recommend this camera and lens
    • The 18-140mm kit lens is obviously very versatile but rather heavy and not as good optically as even the 18-55mm kit lens (all in one zoom lenses are always a compromise; the older nikon 18-135mm non-vr lens circa 2005 is the best of this genre).
    • If you're ok with no warranty, opened/used product and the wrong lens, then this might be the camera for you! :-)
    • It boasts reat responsive autofocus with 39 iirc autofocus points (more than enough), fantastic Nikon lens selection (especially the affordably-priced 35mm f1.8 DX -- a must)
    • The lens creates noise when focusing
    • I regret the 50mm lens - I ended up buying the 35 mm lens to complement.
    • I never dug my 12-24mm lens out of the bag on my most recent trip, however I recommend using the manual focus setting on the lens as this lens is not fast and often requires shooting at wider apertures in some light conditions and you want to insure that what you want is in focus specifically is in focus in the end image
    • Awesome camera and lens.
    • -5.6 VR lens, I will say it is a fine lens but weighs just under 2 lbs. and costs almost $1000
    • I bought this camera with the 18-55mm VRII lens, which is a good beginners lens
    • Love the movable lens allowing framing of close ups and also for holding the camera up above crowds heads.
    • Coupled with the right lens for hobbiest/entry level
    • Great camera and lens combo and at half the price I paid for the first one I bought a couple of years ago.
    • It's cumbersome to change from the other kit lens (18 to 55 and then the 55 to 200) while out an about.
    • It can take some amazing detail with a good lens and time
    • f3.5-5.6 VR as a great secondary "carry around" lens for shooting short, medium, and longer fields of view - and of course that lovely "bokeh" effect (sharp subject, blurry background)
    • I love the new lens, the built-in wi-fi and geo-tracking
    • I also took advantage of an offer from Amazon and upgraded from the kit lenses to a better lens and got a $300 discount.
    • are sharp(with a good lens) and high ISO files are clean and usable up to ISO 4000, maybe even 6400 if you are careful and or apply a little post processingOn auto this camera take some of the best photos - consistently turns out nicely exposed images even when popup flash is used
    • I kept the DX f1.8 35mm fast lens and the
    • When using a good lens (ie the 35mm f/1.8G), the D5300 is a bit sharper than the D5200 (and even more so than the D3300).
    • The 18-140 lens is very useful for family pictures It will not be necesary to change lens during the pictures sessions
    • Absolutely love the VR lens
    • I will just tell you that if you put a great Nikon lens on this little body you will have superb results
    • The lens seemed like a decent choice--my film camera lived with a 28-80mm f/3.5 on it mostly, (equivalent approximately 42~120 on the DX sensor if I understand it right) so this is a little + on both ends and as fast
    • If you're continuing on your photography journey you should certainly consider this camera and if like me, you already have some of the inexpensive kit lenses, treat yourself to a more expensive zoom or prime lens and grow your overall capabilities.
    • The 18-140mm lens is one of the best lens I have
    • Shooting with a good sharp lens like the Nikon 85mm F/1.8G, the detail at 100% zoom is amazing
    • I like the 18-140 mm lens and also bought the 50mm lens so it would be compact.
    • The lens is very versatile and no need to carry a lot of lenses on vacation.
    • Image quality superior, controls easy to use, lens and accessories aplenty
    • The lens is SHARP!
    • Further, I often like to use large lenses, such as the Nikon 18-300VRII -- this lens is no lightweight and it is nice to combine it with the lightweight body of the D5300 to lessen the overall weight I am carrying
    • With the right lens, you can capture any moment exactly how you want to with this camera
    • I had a lot of people tell me to get a static lens (non-zoom), but I knew myself and that zoom would be important to me.
    • Love the lens
    • It's a very good lens with AF-S VR and takes very sharp pictures; it's just not the focal length for me
    • The specs are great and coupled with a good lens the results are amazing.
    • Also a good range lens, perfect for everyday shooting.
    • This might be a lens problem as well, but in my experience Canon does a better job in general with smoother autofocusing
    • The larger lens si more suitable for travel.
    • Crisp, rich photos, very nice lens.
    • Even using the Nikon 18-300VRII lens which is a fine lens but not a pro lens, this camera can produce professional-quality wildlife shots.
    • Get this camera with the better 18MM-140MM lens
    • l am happy to say however, there is a simple solution which I came across randomly while searching the web and it works like a charm
