The 18-140 lens is ideal, the unit is tough and weather resistant (I'm rough on gear), the focusing/metering system is excellent - though many of the Sony camera's I own on paper are supposedly superior - in the field this is just not the case

Great camera and lens

All my mirrorless stuff is gone, replaced with a very capable system that can hold and focus a proper telephoto lens

Best lens I came across for this camera is 35mm 1.8G factoring price inand picture quality

Even the lens isn't too bad for a kit lens

photo heaven again - taking beautiful shots almost instantly and really enjoying the 18-200 lens too.

But its a good lens

Didn't need the lens, but it's great for most purposes

I also have the 18-140, which is an excellent lens.

I have two 7100,s and this one with larger buffer and a few other change is great , drop a few bucks on a good lens of choice and bingo you get fantastic photos

but if you are truly an enthusiast I would recommend not getting that lens but opting for some primes.

I am going to fit this body with a better lens, the 20mm f2.8 prime, and think performance between the two will be even steven for most pics.2B

(that $ can be used on a decent lens or tripod)However, if money is no concern i'd definitely say to go ahead and get the D500...or even a full-frame

Love this camera and lens is perfect for most of my needs

For example, after doing some tests I concluded that the $130 F/1.8 50mm AF-D lens is WAAAAAAY sharper than the 18-140 is at 50mm.

Because Canon does not make a good travel lens

I love the lens

Lens is sharp for such as wide range zoom and the noise on he camera is remarkably low at iso 6400.

This is a very nice camera for the money and the 18-140 mm zoom is a handy lens to have around

Their lens are crystal clear and their products are well built

The 18-140 lens is also great - for casual shooting, it is all your really need, although I keep a fisheye (10.5mm) in my camera bag, as well as a wonderfully sharp wide angle zoon.

That's a good lens too, but the 18-200 is my favorite so far.

This may be an issue in situations where you do not need VR, so I spent the money saved on the body here, on the better lens

The money I did not spend by going for one of the more expensive cameras, I spent on a better 70-300mm lens

I already had the lens for this and they work just fine

You don't notice so much with a nice fast prime lens, but the improved ISO capabilities of the camera with the much better autofocus system is capable of transforming a low-end telephoto zoom that was almost useless in all but the brightest of light on the D90, into a very useful and almost professional feeling lens on the D7200.
