At this point, we made friends with the people in front and behind us, and we all agreed to keep each other's place while any of us stepped out of line for food, a warm drink, or a bathroom break

Some had portable seats, the guy next to us brought a blanket (why didn't we think of this?!), and others brought drink canisters that kept hot drinks hot for 12+ hours

We spent the next few hours chatting with the people around us, and taking turns buying warm drinks to bring back
